Exact opposite, actually

The tackle clearly lined up inside the upright

The tackle box is in effect until the ball leaves it. When Hurt released the ball, the view of his hand is blocked by the upright, which means the ball was outside the tackle box when he released it

Also, using your logic, every ball intentionally thrown out of bounds would be intentional grounding. Since there is no way a WR could possibly be in that area

Read the rule, posted earlier in this thread. The tackle box is 5 yards to either side of the center. He was inside of that when he released it. This was intentional grounding.

ETA: 5 yards to either side of the center at the time the ball is snapped.

Please go read the rule. It's pretty obvious it was grounding when you know the actual rule.
