He didn't direct it...but he definitely made that terrible Paparazzi movie.

Apocalypto sucked. Passion of the Christ was also pretty bad. None of his work is historically accurate (see Braveheart) and the plotlines are garbage. He tries to compensate a shitty storyline with over the top gore.

Let me write you off then on "people not to take their movie tastes seriously."

I don't like the Passion, but its hard to fault a movie that achieves literally everything it set out to do. He made the movie he wanted to pretty flawlessly.

Again, this movie may be unreal, but whoever made those trailers should be fired immediately.
It comes off like an SNL spoof. I laugh every time.
Definitely going to see it because it's an awesome story and Mel just makes great movies, but come the frick on with that trailer (and that accent).

I plan on doing this just to support Gibson. His storytelling has a place in Hollywood. Need more movies like the ones he can create.
yes. Historically inaccurate gore films are just what hollywood needs.

I mean, that is your opinion. But it is a pretty bad opinion.

Let me write you off as "philistines that don't know the difference between Aztecs and Mayans".

Holy shite. This is the first time I've ever seen someone say that.
What a great movie.
Also, if you pause the trailer on the correct milisecond, this flashes up:
I've done it myself. Just pause the trailer on your computer and slowly drag through the part where a bunch of scenes rapidly flash.

Dude, its a fricking movie. It's not a documentary. Who gives a shite so long as it's entertaining and well made?

I've never seen it. I guess I'll find it online.

Man, I bet you hate a lot of good movies.

Apocalypto? I highly recommend it. The whole thing is in Maya, so be prepared for subtitles.

I would watch on a TV in the dark. Lots of rapid, beautiful jungle chase scenes. The intensity from the score would also be felt better not on a PC.

Same could be said for Transformers 4, comic book movies, and all the other big budget filth coming out of Hollwood these days.
Mel Gibson is a shite director.

I'm honestly surprised at the split opinion on this board towards this movie. Given the story, the war scenes, and Mel Gibson, I figured it would be more appealing to most people on this board.

Did you hate Braveheart because it was exaggerated and not historically accurate?

You talking Hacksaw Ridge?
If so, I'm sure its because of how bad the trailer is.

No it can't. Transformers 4 is pure shite that has crappy characters, awful dialog, horrible action that I have no idea what is going on, bad acting, terrible direction, and sells out to the very dumbest of audiences. There's no effort in that franchise from really anyone involved. I can't find any of these faults in Mel Gibson movies.

I'm HoH so I watch every movie in subtitles. It's a reason why I rarely go to the theater.

"A touchy-feely...."movie? You really have no idea what this movie is all about. Sorry if the true story of a real American hero...he received the Medal of Honor for saving 75 of his buddies..comes across as touchy/feely. Hating Gibson for his beliefs, expressed while drunk or not, is stupid when you consider all the flaming assholes in Hollywood whose movies shadow their flaming liberal beliefs. Remember the big shot who spoke out against the police & in favor of BLM? His movies pack them in because of their violence. Yet Gibson is hated for something that happened yrs ago.
