I couldn't understand it. Also an awful lot of brothers in it, too many if you ask me.

The fact that this is even a consideration tells you that the awards are influenced by a pseudo quota psychology outside the scope of movie/acting quality.

I think Fences may be the one that contends for awards.

Is this the one that glorifies the actions of a slave who is revolting against the evil white folks, when in reality he and his fellow slaves actually murdered approx 60 innocent people?

From the couple of websites Ive looked at recently, La La Land is the overwhelming favorite to win Best Picture from a number of critics, with Manchester by the Sea, and Moonlight(the minority pick with better reviews) next.

On a scale of 1-10, what level of white guilt does this movie want me to feel after watching it?

I don't get some of these comments. It's a movie about Nat turner slave revolt. Why would anybody feel guilty of this? it's based on a true event so I just take it for what it is.

That was before the rape allegations against the director/actor resurfaced.

Funny thing about this is that he talked about the allegations for years himself. He was also found Not Guilty, but in this day and time Not guilty doesn't mean squat.

Well acting quality is subjective.

So, Hollywood has always been about voting for a myriad of other reasons...politics, friends, sentimentality, long-over due, race, sex, etc.
