so I wish people would quit saying that's what it will take to win.

We will need to play well and play smart and all will be fine...

LSU at their best, this year, has been just about unbeatable.

Can they play at that level for 4 quarters against Alabama? THIS Alabama team, which is just about the best I've seen in the Saban era?

We'll find out.

Agreed. Honestly, bama has given up big yards and points to ole miss and Arkansas. They also have a freshman qb and don't pass it great, and he hasn't seen a defense like this nor an environment. THEY will have to play really well to beat LSU. We have a pussy fan base that forgets we have more guys going in the first two rounds next year than bama does...

Lmao. They spanked a bad Tenn team, a bad USC team, and got by ole miss after giving up 43 points, and they are saban best? They aren't even top 3 of sabans teams. Good god. Their secondary is weak, and so is their passing game.

"Fine" without a near perfect game? Sure.

"Win" without a near perfect game? Nope.

I don't see why people say this is Saban's best team. He is starting a true FR QB that struggles to hit the medium to long pass. We are winning this game.

Exactly where have you seen them play this? Which game against a quality opponent? The last three gave us problems at times - see tied scores at half time. We are not capable of hanging with the Gumps for 4 quarters. It will take a perfect game by LSU or the Gumps will need to implode ala Ole Miss 2015.

Lsu qb play is where the game will be decided.
If they pressure etling and get him rattled. We have no shot. If he can keep the lbs honest and open up run game we win. My gut feeling is etling gets rattled. I hope I'm wrong.

This 1000%!

Bama does not pass the ball well and our secondary is the best they will face all year long. This time we make them one dimensional.

LSU can now both run and pass. Remember, Bama is without Eddie Jackson in their secondary and as a returner. LSU will not be one dimensional this year.

This does not guarantee we win the game but all the talk of we have to be perfect to beat Bama is ridiculous. Some LSU fans really have a complex and deep down inside are scared of Bama. This is not even close to the 2011 Bama version.

It all depends on how well conditioned the O-Line for LSU will be.

It's no secret that Bama is a monster in their front 7, hell..it's more like front 11, with all the possible rotations.

Need to come out and fricking push the shite out of them as much as possible early.

You best believe that Orgeron understands this.

To be fair, Ole Miss had 3 non Offensive TDs.

So their defense has still been good, but Bama is prone to mistakes.

LSU doesn't need to play a flawless game. They need to take advantage of what the other team is giving them.

Why do] people keep saying this? 2011 Bama would destroy this year's team. 2011 LSU likely beats this year's Bama team too. How quickly people forget just how dominant those two teams were..

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves there buddy. I'm as a big a fan as anyone but let's not pretend this team has been tested under the leadership O. We now see just how bad Mizzou is, they allowed two 180yrd rushers against KENTUCKY. We spanked Southern Miss and an Ole Miss team that has looked like shite since loosing to Bama at home. This team is not even in the same vicinity as unstoppable at this point. Pump the breaks on that one.

This is not one of Saban's best teams. I'd say it's one of his weaker teams overall. But they're still better than 90% of CFB

Agreed.
1) by physical
2) don't let them break you, take any momentum swing in their favor as a challenge to your collective manhood
3) win every play, each player has his own war every snap. No going through the motions
4) every time they stop you on one thing, attack what they took away from
5) it's cliche to say 'play a full 60min', and goes without saying. But, take the last 3 min of every quarter as the challenge to change the score. Including on D. Everybody rallies for the beginning of the 4th qtr. Do that at end of every quarter.
5) attack, attack, attack. Dictate what they do, on both sides of the ball. If they are responding to us (beat them to punch on adjustments) you control the flow of the game.

With that mentality, being imperfect is no big thing.

You are in denial if you think Bama doesn't have a great team. They pounded a good A&M team too.

Our passing attack ranks #115. The Alabama passing ranks around #60. If they don't pass good, how fricking bad must we be?

Considering we shut down Kelly and the 15th ranked passing attack, I assume we'll be fine vs Hurts.
