Probably not the best time to be doing that being so new. Luckily I work deepwater and we have coverage, so when I bail out for the ball games its no biggie. I normally take a week for one big game a year 
As bad as it sucks, its probably best to suck it up and stay at work.

So over the course of 3 months you've managed to work around 42 whole days without missing one. You must be exhausted. Of course you should ask off for the game. You certainly need the rest.

well, if you are legit entitled to the vacation time, then take the day(s) off if that is your choice...no excuse necessary.
