Ceauxch Ensminger was a failure as OC at previous stops

I was in a thread yesterday and someone made this post about Steve Ensminger:
I didn't try to dispute the claim. He's probably right so I just took his word for it.
This morning when I woke up before 5:00 a.m. and couldn't freakin go back to sleep, I started wondering why I was wide awake so early on a Saturday when LSU doesn't even play today.
Then I started thinking about LSU and how exciting it is to watch them now, so much that I can't sleep in on Saturday when they don't even play. So anyway, I started thinking about why they are more enjoyable to watch now then they have been in a very long time. Part of it is the offense looking competent for the first time in years. While thinking about the difference I remembered the above post.
If Ensminger was such a miserable OC at his two previous stops, how the hell can the guy be promoted from tight-ends coach to OC and in one week not only have the team look completely different but set an all-time LSU offensive record.
The guy sucks and in his only three games as the LSU OC he has seen his offense set three all-time school records, outscored opponents 73-7 in the second half and made the offense fun to watch again.
LSU has been playing football since 1893 - 123 years. WTF, has LSU been so fricking horrible for 123 years that a tight-ends coach who has been a total failure in his past two stints in the job set 3 all-time school records in only 3 games.
I know LSU has never been considered a trailblazer on the offensive side of the ball, but they have had 123 years of trying, Gary Crowton and Jimbo Fisher - two guys who are considered to be pretty good offensive minded coaches. And then comes along a guy who worked at high schools in 3 of his last five jobs and he sets three offensive records at LSU. WTF !!!

A failed OC at two different schools

The same reason a failed HC has now somehow become the savior of the program in the Rant's eyes.
It truthfully just goes to show you how much Miles was holding the program back.
If LSU can pull all of that off with 2 misfits, imagine what the likes of Herman or Fisher could do with all the talent in this program.

And this is the essence of the people who aren't as keen on coach O as others.

Amen brotha.
But O will be the guy. Hopefully he gets Kiffin. Idk why Kiffin would leave Bama, but I won't ask questions.

You are right, with Herman LSU should be able to beat Navy and keep the loss to SMU a lot closer. At Houston he doesn't have misfit coaches and a lot more talent than Navy and SMU.

The answer is multiple NFL caliber running backs vs shitty teams.
One being a once in a lifetime type player.

if Ceauxch Eaux can win out and keep this recruiting class together......L.S.U. would be crazy not to retain him............which is probably why he will not be hired.

This is the worst argument you O lovers keep coming up with. He lost to Navy, SMU, and UConn as the coach of Houston. He's also beaten
FSU, Louisville and Oklahoma with a less talented team and against coaches perceived to be in the elite category.
Don't forget, Saban has lost to ULM and Utah with more talented teams and coaches not perceived as elite.

FSU who played in the playoffs the year before? Who had a back up QB playing in the Chik-Fil-A bowl on 12/31 a year later against a Houston team?
Oklahoma whose biggest wins this year were against a 4-3 TCU team 52-46 and a 3-4 Texas team 45-40. SMU would beat OU also worse than Houston did. Not something to hang your hat on.

Ensminger was probably the hottest offensive coordinator in the country in the early to mid 90s. Huge numbers at Georgia and Texas A&M. It's true he did not fair so well at Clemson and Auburn, but Auburn was a train wreck with Tuberville and lots of careers were ruined there.
Not talking specifically about Ensminger, but coordinators should be judged on their whole body of work. It's easy for a coordinator to be stuck in a position where the personnel is not good, or the head coach won't let him call the games his way, thus making him unsuccessful.
So, Ensminger has had tremendous success and he has failed. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. He probably needs to go back to tight-ends coach next year, yet have an expanded role in offensive game-plan formation.

So how does a coach go from beating FSU, Louisville and Oklahoma to losing to Navy, struggling against Tulsa and getting his arse kicked by SMU?
That would be like saying he beat Florida, Arkansas and Ole Mis at LSU. Disregard the fact he lost to Mississippi State, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
The losses count !!! And to lose to bottom feeders won't make up for wins against against UF, Ark and Ole Miss.

He is terrible. I posted this before. Les hired him BECAUSE he ran the same shite offense at TAMU under RC Slocum. He CANNOT be the OC if O gets hired and I'm afraid that is what will happen. So that is just another reason why I want someone other than O. I would call and interview Briles son at Baylor.

It is truly simple to give you a reason with a very tried and true analogy, it is difficult to make chicken salad out of chicken shite!

Put our offense with Les as the coach against the 78th, 79th and 89th ranked defenses and he likely wins. Our defense is ranked 7th in scoring defense. That means we get
More opportunities to score as well.
WtH is wrong with you people?

He's also getting his arse kicked by UCF as I type.

What I'm getting out of this thread is that most don't know anything

Awkward situation between him and Saban. They apparently don't like each other and it was RUMORED last year that Kiffin crossed a major line.
