I never said I was okay with what he did. You guys aren't criticizing his decision, you're talking about him like he's a crap ball player. Also questioning his intelligence because he said the school name wrong.

Simmons was here because of DP. Blakeney came because of Simmons. I won't go into the other guys decisions.

You don't know enough about a kid to call him shitty. He's 17 and made a poor choice. Passing judgement as if you're perfect.

He comes with the kind of commitment ceremony that begs for attention and his coach comes running to defend him on a backpage message board of a school that "missed" on him. Sometimes it's better to just ignore things that make you angry.

You're right. I let some folks who don't know anything about basketball piss me off. I agree that the announcement was in poor taste and that LSU "missed" on this one.

They didn't miss on on him. He chose another school over them. You can't miss what you never had. The moment that he posted the video on the Internet he opened himself up to criticism. As much as they try to deny his talent, no one can take his accolades away. They're just hurt that he didn't choose us. But they should never criticize him as a person if they have no knowledge of him. You don't have to defend his talent. His game speaks for itself.

You're correct. Most of don't know anything about Cedric, but he acted like a scorned lover with his ceremony, showing the LSU shirt first, pretending as if he was re-committing.

Luckily, he's young enough he can pass it off as immaturity, but don't act as if these reactions are isolated to just him; people everywhere react negatively to these types of actions.

Lol...he is furthering his career at "the university of Lafayette Louisiana"

He is about to be inundated with some strongly worded emails from the superfans and the athletic department administration.

I don't believe anyone has called him a crap ball player. He goes to school in CENLA which means that he won't get seen or noticed by many people. There's just not enough games for people to see in BR and NOLA.

He's got a good shot, but I don't think anyone would call him a blue chip prospect either. No need to get worked up about it.

This post is very amusing considering how much LSU wanted the kid. Johnny Jones was in home for a visit 3 weeks ago and there were college coaches at Peabody as up until his announcement day. 25 D1 offers yethe none of you've heard of him. All State 3 years in a row also.

So all bullshite aside, why did he choose ULL? Why not LSU? Why not Tulane? Why not the 20 something other likely better offers over ULL?

Honestly just curious. Seems LSU replaced him with Rachal fairly quick.

To put it frankly, LSU's presentation during their visit didn't measure up to the other programs. Also, Brandon wasn't his replacement. Cedric was recruited long before and after Brandon's commitment. I actually helped DP get Brandon on campus for an unofficial last season.

So you're saying ULL is paying more than LSU for basketball players?

Damn, that Miles buyout is hurting more than I thought.

No, I mean we talked more about the football game on TV than how he fit their system and their plans to use him.

I actually have much more respect for u.l's basketball coach and program than ours. we can't win with Ben Simmons. I wish we could go from football straight to baseball

Football players he called out for being shitty people too when they do shite like that. And frankly, if the authority figures in the kids life are okay with him doing that, they're shitty people too, and I don't want any of them around our program.

If that is the worse the kid does then I think he will be ok. At least he isnt a complete douche like Ben Simmons.

LSU didn't miss on Cedric. LSU pulled the offer not long after he decommitted. He is a good player but they have bigger needs than PG, where Skylar Mays will operate for four years.

ETA: Russell is really good though. He will have a nice career at ULL. Can absolutely shoot the lights out.

Offer was never pulled from Cedric. You are right about one thing, they had more pressing needs.
