I'll throw this out there...I hunt out of a stand that my uncle built in 1991. Over 150 deer have been killed out of it and we kept a log on the wall inside of the date and time each one was killed. There have been many deer killed at all hours of the day.

What part of the world are you hunting? Bring that sumbich by the house and we'll hang it on the kids' swingset and skin it. Youtube can only teach you so much.

I own my property and am getting old . Therefore I basically get in the stand and leave when I want to . Usually get in stand about daylight and in the afternoon leave about 20 minutes before dark . If I'm thirsty for alcohol or a good game is on , I leave early or don't go .

A good rule of thumb:
Be on your stand when you think deer will be moving regardless of what time it is(as long as it's legal shooting time)
