Yeah, it's a pretty great show. It screams 2000's with a lot of agnsty white guy with a guitar soundtrack, but it works for its time. I loved how the show had great characters than could play off each other well. Each episode you wanted to see how JD played off of the janitor and how intimate he got with Turk. My favorite moments were when Dr. Cox and Kelso would spar with each other, knowing that they are practically the same person.
It's shows like Scrubs that make viewing so enjoyable. It's one thing to write funny dialogue, it's another to have it used by characters that utilize the material well with other characters.

Once JD went away, the show got better. By the time I get around to the last episode, I'm actually sad it ended.
Season 9 was starting to find its legs as it transitioned into being a competent spinoff...and CANCELED! I was disappointed after the last few episodes. I would have liked to see where Med School would have gone.

JD. "Do they have thanksgiving in your homeland?"
Carla. "You mean Chicago?"
JD. "Y'all have a Chicago?"

I remember back in 02 or 03, my girlfriend and her sister were watching Scrubs and the only scene that I saw was Todd staring at himself in a mirror wearing a banana hammock, and I walked out saying WTF. In 09 I fell in love with reruns on WGN and have since watched the full series twice through. It is a powerful series and much greater than HIMYM.

Bill Lawrence came up with the idea for the show after hearing ridiculous stories from his friends that were going through their residencies. There is actually real life JD. I think a lot of the episodes, especially early on, were based on their experiences.
It's long been my favorite show, but now that I'm a resident it's even more relatable. On a weekly basis I feel like I experience something straight out of one of the episodes.
It's incredible how well they capture the range of emotions you experience on a daily basis.
There aren't many shows that come to mind that can make you laugh your arse of one minute and leave you cutting onions the next.
Was watching today and I always crack up at this scene.

Dr Cox is one of the greatest characters to grace the small screen, IMO.

The Janitor may be my favorite sitcom character ever.

Great show. As a doctor and former resident/intern/medical student, I think it is actually the most accurate depiction of resident/doctor life.

My favorite Janitor quote...so simple...yet makes me laugh every single time....

My favorite line so far, Dr Cox talking to his ex wife.
"I had a dream about you, but I can't be certain. My flesh was being torn from my bones by a cross-eyed water snake...you right?"

Because of this thread I've started rewatching from the beginning. Just got to the episode where Brendan Frazier comes in as Jordans brother.
Always gets me. Every damn time.

How does scrubs compare to other hospital based sitcoms on tv now? (Chicago Med, Night Shift (if you haven't already, check out Shannon from this show, she's smoking hot), greys anatomy, etc)
I don't imagine it does, actually. Granted, I haven't watched any of those other shows -- not really a fan of medical shows in general -- but they're dramas, right? While "Scrubs" certainly had dramatic moments, it's pretty definitely a comedy show. It'd be like comparing "Night Court" to "L.A. Law."

Yes, except despite it being a zany goofy comedy, it manages to capture much more realism than any of those other medical shows. It's like if night court more accurately depicted legal proceedings than L.A. Law.

Wait, I'm confused. Are you saying that realistic courtrooms don't engage in zany hijinks like horny prosecutors trying to bed the public defender, kooky bailiffs sassing the judge, and crazy criminals trading quips with everyone?
It's becoming painfully apparent that I have led a very sheltered life.

Still hear songs and it reminds me of the show.
I got into Colin Hay's music solely due to them using a bunch of his stuff on Scrubs.
DAMNIT: I just looked out of curiosity if Colin Hay would be coming to my area, and of course he'll be here in two weeks when I'll be out of town.
