game to game point totals in common opponents has been disproven as a way of ranking relative strength. additionally, ole miss might end up losing 5 games this year
And that wouldn't take away from the fact that LSU basically shut down a really good offense and put Ole Miss away in the game.
You can talk about last year's team or teams in the past that Miles had, but Orgeron is not coaching those teams. He is coaching this year's team. We can only judge the man on the games he has coached this year. All that will really matter is how he fares against Bama and finishes the season, because that is something we certainly haven't been doing well the last few years. He hasn't faced his biggest challenges yet, but based on how we looked before he took over, I have to credit him for that because sometimes those situations fall apart. The opposite has happened for LSU so far.

the audition is coaching teams and executing x and o's to see if CEO could be a championship level coach, year in year out and years into the future.
I don't even think it''s X's and O's. He is a DL coach and is not equipped to get too far into the X/O weeds. Miles was also unequipped, but unlike O, was hands on, which was his downfall. Miles and O can be successful as managers who guide the ship while letting their coaches coach.
The only proper audition for a manager is to manage. Sample size is highly important, as is how he deals with coaching turnover. The two most important assests for a manager are finding/replacing great assistants and identifying talent and recruiting it.
O can recruit, but can he identify it? Brent Schaefer was highly rated and O put his offense on his shoulders. He did a good job of getting the wrong guy there. We don't and won't know if O can successfully manage a program until he actually does it. He has never done it before. Will LSU roll the dice and find out?

i'm just saying CEO hasn't played anyone yet. we'll know more later. everyone hold your horses.
this team is playing much better now than they were at the start of the season. same individuals on the field (minus the QB) but more disciplined and on fire. The play calling is different, the defense plays with more energy and attack the football as a unit. Seems like many people here see this but its apparent some can't or choose not to acknowledge it.
As of today CEO is an excellent coach.
Two weeks to prepare for The Gumps.
CEO will coach these Fighting Tigers not Les Miles.
Lets hope the players have fun and win.
Geaux Oeaux.

How many times have you seen LSU barely beat an opponent that we are heavily favored to win and the game goes down to the wire. With Miles the team would
almost always play down to the opponents level where we would usually win
but you could see no one was excited about playing. I remember reading years ago that Saban has a full time psychologist on staff for the express purpose of getting the players in the right mindset for a game no matter the opponent. Perhaps LSU should consider that.

It's as tiring as politics.
You have "your" candidate and he is a "HOMERUN".
Anyone that disagrees is a moron.
We have NO idea who will be successful.
Let's just FKIN enjoy it.

If you can't see the difference in everything about this team that ceo has brought, I m not going to try to explain it.

these are games LSU should win.
Mississippi is not the team they were last season. They might not win a west game this year if they lose to State. Auburn will run them out of the stadium this weekend.
It will all come down to the Alabama and Texas A@M. Jumping on any bandwagon right now is dumb.

For fricks sake, the OP is absolutely correct. I'm tired of hearing "he's one of us." In his only stint as a head coach, he absolutely shite the bed. He didn't do "alright". He didn't have a "flash of brilliance". Didnt do shite. He's a coonass that is enthusiastic and recruits well so you frickers want to pay him millions to run this program. Seriously. Listen to yourselves. He has no football philosophy. No identity. No record of success. He's doing a good job with les's players, les's coaches, les's secret play book.

i don't have a candidate. i am enjoying it. and it seems like my post is dead on balls accurate here, as proven by the many, COACH O is the man posts in this thread, as well as the many LOOK NO FURTHER threads on the rant. If it happens to be CEO because he earns it, i'll be happy for him.
there has been improvement over miles. cool. well done. let's see how he does versus alabama and arkansas.

and this is a fundamental flaw of logic.
coach o is performing better than a coach who was justifiably fired, therefore he should be the coach at LSU going forward.

All of it. Just because you think you are right doesn't make it so.

There should be nothing you've seen that makes you think that CEO is doing anything other than what miles has done in past years. Or should've been doing this year (and last).
This.
Not a murderers row of teams yet. But, LSU had played with a fire and passion that's been lacking for quit a few years. They have been FOCUSED and ORGANIZED on the sidelines, none of the "is it my turn to go in?"
If you think that was easy to accomplish you are mistaken. He has their attention. FOCUS and ORGANIZATION are both hallmarks of well coached successful teams. That hasn't been in effect on the sidelines for a few years.

They were not necessarily games we would win and dominate under prior regime.

i can agree with this. especially late in miles' tenure. while this is proof that miles should've been fired. how is it proof that orgeron should be hired after three games?
