Cam gets a lot of hate but I honestly don't think it was him. Now he takes the blame for not pushing back hard enough, but it was Miles.
Unless Miles completely trusts the QB, he plays ultra conservative. The last time they opened it up was with Mett.
Again, not saying Cameron was a good OC but I think Miles hamstrung him.

Miles turned into a safe, baby back bitch...trying to clutch onto that salary for dear life.
I had more fun watching LSU in the late 90s than I did last few years with that selfish bastard making promises to those kids he knew he didn't intend to keep

I think Cam is a good offensive coordinator. To be honest I didn't buy into the Les not letting OCs do their job argument but I admit being wrong.
I saw Smith's quotes as being a much greater indictment of Les than Cam when he says the playbook is the same but "Coach O let's Emsinger do his job."
That was very telling to me.

It was Miles ALL THE WAY....... He may have been great pre 2012 but he sucked the rest of the time. He did NOT let Cam do his job. After 1/9/12, Miles coached scared.... FACT.....

Don't disagree that Miles didn't head this up, but Jimbo and The Wizard were able to create within Miles' scheme. Marriage made in hell.
Remember this is the same guy the Ravens ran off DURING the playoff run to the Super Bowl.

I'd agree IF Coach O didn't come in and fire Cam too.

Just a fact to consider when trying to define blame. With his firing, and CLM's of course, CLM had 5 OC's in his 11 yrs. including Jimbo. Pretty much speaks as to whose fault the lack of offensive imagination was over the yrs.

no he was a bad OC.Besides running terrible plays he also was terrible at coaching execution of plays. Just a terrible all around hire. I think it was more of him being an anchor that helped sink Miles, not that Miles needed any help in that regard. Glad both are gone. At least Miles did some good things for LSU. Can't say the same about Cam

Possibly to a small degree but this is Cam. Pound the rock and throw deep. It was after Cam's arrival that we would throw deep when we faced third downs with manageable distance to cover. It's one of the reasons we couldn't move the chains consistently. We would attempt low percentage pass plays when we needed 6 to 9 yards for example.
We didn't utilize the middle of the field, slip screens, etc.

quote:apparently it was. you could say that miles was ultimately responsible for letting the situation get bad but, the rumor is that there was tension among the offensive coaches and cam was the reason.
