Foley/Alleva/Game observations

Random thoughts...
* Alleva intentionally said "there will be a home game on the 19th" to specifically echo Foley's "the game will be in Gainesville". If Foley can issue a diktat like this, so can Alleva. Nice play, Joe...now hold your ground.
* SEC by-laws could be changed permanently or temporarily at any time if the powers in the SEC want to do so. Why not just use division records this year (and in future years if need be) like Joe suggested? Onus is on us (is that where the word "onus" comes from, "on us"?) to win out, it would hurt UF for its loss to UT, AND make them lose a home game. UT should like this. Alabama will not like it, but hey, the SEC is "family", right Alabama?
* Joe seemed to indicate we could play UF on Oct. 29--our open date--IF Alabama was forced to play a game on that date since we play them the next week. So what game could the SEC force Alabama to re-schedule to the 29th? UF would presumably have to play UGA the 22nd. So this would need the co-operation of UA, UGA, and some other school to work--too much to ask in a very short time. Fail.

Any option that includes another sec team ( besides UF and Florida ) moving a game might as well be thrown out as impossible. No other school would consent to that and Sankey doesn't have the balls to press the issue.

The only option is to play Nov 19. And it doesn't sound like we want to go on the road. So, unless Florida comes to Baton Rouge, the game is not being played.

And I think LSU has stubbornly taken this position because Florida would not schedule the game for Sunday or Monday. Florida's attitude about the position they took also came across as offensive.
Then, to ask LSU to change to Nov 19 became untenable for other reasons as well: losing money on the buyout and local area economy; LSU playing three road games in a row.
LSU would be giving up a lot compared to Florida buying out Presbyterian.
This is why I agree with LSU's position, besides the fact that I am die hard LSU fan. So yes, I have a big bias, but that doesn't change the facts. LSU is getting screwed now and/or later.

The game isn't happening. It's time everyone accepts that

2016 SEC Football Championship
December 3, 2016 (Atlanta, Georgia)
4:00 p.m. ET on CBS
*IF this is a game that holds no championship ramifications. LSU could play Florida that Morning at 11pm December 3, 2016.
That being said if it didn't AFFECT the league standings. If LSU and Florida lose 2 more SEC games... No sure if it would mean much to the League at that point.

Flood ravaged Baton Rouge can not really afford a loss of a home LSU game.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a bye that week. They might be interested in a spirited scrimmage. Just sayin

I don't know about the steelers, but I'd be down to schedule the Browns and call it a conference game. They'd probably even come here.
