re: How early should I start planning my Tokyo Olympics trip?

I want to go to the Olympics in a foreign country, but I don't think I'd ever want to go somewhere like Tokyo I'll only go once. As said, the prices in Tokyo are going to be through the roof, you won't be able to go to a lot of places , etc.

I personally plan on going to the Olympics somewhere I would not go otherwise. Use it as a reason to visit somewhere unique and see the Olympics at the same time.
