Best
1. Bert Jones (Ruston Rocket, "Jones to Davis")
2. Tommy Hodson (9,115 yds, 69 TD's, Earthquake game)
3. Y. A. Tittle (Legend)
4. Matt Mauck (National Championship QB will always make the list)
5. Warren Rabb (National Championship)
6. JaMarcus Russell (incredible talent)
7. Rohan Davey (started this recent success)
Worst
1. Jamie Howard (one word... Auburn)
2. Josh Booty (no comment needed)
Is anyone keeping track of the votes for this ranking?
Or... has this turned into one of the 8 million Russell vs Flynn debates on TD....

I am not saying he is the best qb to have ever played at LSU. We should give him credit for being special to have achieved what the team did.
I'm not sure Matt Mauck was not the best QB we've ever had at L. S. U. !!
Imagine what he may have been if the Florida Gayterz had not almost crippled him!?
Mauck was a savy QB - in other words...no!!! these are the very words "It's not what Mauck did but what he didn't do that made his play a great asset to L. S. U.!!" - coach Nick Saban
final note: remember L. S. U. was up on invincible OU 24-7 early in the 4th quarter........the crooked big east officials called a holding & personal foul on the Tigers togeather in a field goal effort!! marched L. S. U. back 30 yards....nobody in their right mind believes that was not an effort to assist Oklahomoa!!
I have an client who I've assisted in finance with a Fortune 500 Company who has deep interests in the Steelers org. He asked me about that call the day after the 2004 BCS title game!

Bert Jones was a once in a lifetime type player and to some extent he was wasted in a two qb system. If he is the only qb while here he wins the hiesman hands down. My top 5 are:
Jones
Davey
Russell
Hodson
Tittle
Don't forget herb tyler and alan risher, neither were great but fun to watch and had decent stats. Tyler was one of my favs. Mauck was good, led the comeback against U thug in 2001. Howard was ok. Worst has to be randall, booty was pretty bad too, but randall made me sick.

What about Billy Ezell of the early-mid 60s? And there was another LSU qb...Billy Masters or McMasters as I recall during the 60s?

I doubt you ever saw most of the guys on my list, so how can you question it?
That's pretty arrogant. So because you saw all of the guys on your list and somebody else hasn't, that makes your list beyond reproach????

Isn't it ironic that we have a better offense this year after losing the #1 nfl draft pick at QB and 2 first round receivers?
Isn't it ironic that we have a new OC??

1. Jamie Howard (one word... Auburn)

One game doesn't qualify. That game was Curly Hallman's fault for even throwing in the 4th quarter with a double digit lead and a defense that was blanking their offense.
Howard had some good games, too, and was far from the worst.

he was also one of the best decision making qb's we've had at LSU.

I don't understand why he was such a great decision maker. Every audible he made was into a run play. Wheter that was because of Jimbo or not, I don't know. I don't want to dog the guy, he was a good QB, but I never thought of him as a great decision maker. It's hard not to be when you have 3 1st rounders getting open for you.

Russell
Title
Jones
Davey
Hester (i know he never played Qb but i just assume that with his heart he would probably just be dominant)

"That's pretty arrogant. So because you saw all of the guys on your list and somebody else hasn't, that makes your list beyond reproach????"
No,it's not arrogance. The fact that I've seen them play makes me a better judge than someone who hasn't. You can't judge something you've never experienced.
I don't like to see Jamie Howard judged by that Auburn debacle. It wasn't his fault! He led the team to a comfortable lead and then Lynn Amedee continued to call for passes which JH threw accurately but the int's were deflections off the receivers. Had the O just been allowed to run the ball and let the D continue to dominate Auburn, we win that game in a walk! He even led LSU to a go ahead score AFTER Auburn had taken a lead.
