Bad time coach hunting when Texas has a vacancy. If you think Bama has money , think of how much they would spend for the coach they wanted. Now that youve done that triple that number in your head and thats Texas money.

You can get paid a metric shite-load of money at Texas, or a metric shite-load of money at LSU.

At Texas, you have to deal with all of the bullshite that comes with being the head coach of Texas. Texas' administration, AD, faculty and boosters are so far up your arse, you would be a glorified puppet.

At LSU, you have to deal with none of the bullshite that comes with being the head coach of LSU. LSU was so hands off that Les Miles was allowed to run the same cartoon / kindergarten offense until he got fired.

People seem to be missing the forest through all of the trees, IMO...

Ha Ha...Herman changed his mind and avoided that SC dumpster fire.

If the Texas job opens up and Herman picks them, it wont be because they offered some ridiculous amount of money over LSU. LSU has the money to compete with any school in the country.

This whole notion that Texas(and even people say Houston) has so much money that they will get whatever they want is absurd. If this were the case, why dont they go throw 15+ million at Saban? Herman will go to Texas for reasons that arent money imo.

While I agree I don't like the prospect of having to compete for a coach against Texas we will be fine. I love Herman but can honestly say Jimbo and him would be a coin flip if we had the choice. And I haven't ruled out O. Let's see what he can do and it's his job if he only loses 1 down the stretch imo.

Hell, if you're paying $15m you might as well throw it at Belichick, he's making half that.

bullshite. At LSU you have to kiss the ring of LA politicians and deal with a fanbase that expects you to beat Saban.

Texas is a way easier job.

This would be the deal breaker for me, and I'm sure this is part of the reason Texas only got Strong. Of course, I still think Texas's problem is more to do with them and not Strong, but that won't stop the administration.

If Herman can turn that shite show around, all the power to him, but I think going down there could destroy any coach right now.

Firing a coach 2.3 years into his tenure solely because the next hot thing is on the market. Sure sounds like an easy job.

When youre winning SEC championships, you dont deal with anything like that. Saban did whatever the hell he wanted and the school let him. Miles in the earlier years did the same. Hell, he did it all the way up to the last few years where it was time for him to go.

What does a winning coach at LSU owe politicians?

The Texas fanbase is pretty laid back as well. They obviously want to win, but they're not rabid like us.

right. when texas offered saban 7mil/yr bama turned around and gave him a raise and an ext.

why didn't texas offer 8, 9, 10, 100, w/e?

these people and their "texas money" threads. good grief. there's a market for coach salaries that will continue to rise, but lsu football makes enough to pay w/e to whoever.

You must have missed the memo. Charlie will get a full three seasons. That is about the norm in 2016.

Aka y'all delusionally expect the next coach to beat Nick Saban on the reg.

I already addressed that huge elephant in the room in my post.
