The only solution to keeping fans in the stands

is making football fun again. And I believe that is finally happening now at LSU. People want prolific offense, big stats, energized and motivated defense. They want their team to play aggressively for 4 quarters. They want their team to be disciplined and well coached. They want to have fun at a football game. The fun that Les methodically squeezed out of football is being resuscitated by Oeaux. Can't wait for Saturday!

It was fun Saturday and the usual suspects bolted after halftime.

I've heard something about a traffic problem that only exists in lsu and Baton Rouge.
And the heat. My God, the heat.

Weird how teams that aren't even close to the stratosphere of the LSU program have fans that actually stay to watch their team play. Why is this unique to LSU?

Yeah. I have learned that LSU fans are the only people that cant be inconvenienced by traffic.

if i've said it once, i've said it one hundred times. tell the dancers to strip during the course of the game and get fully naked by the final whistle.
problem solved.

I don't have much concern for those who complain bout ticket prices continually only to leave at 1/2 or in the 3rd quarter.
If they want to waste their money and at the same time show a lack of vocal support for their team, that's their business.

Lots of threads about attendance and I think everyone is a little bit right. To me the biggest difference now is that all games are available on TV and can be watched anytime and anywhere. Fans know they can leave early and watch the game on their phone on the way back to their tailgate. For a very long time the only way to see an LSU game was to be there. Just not the case anymore. But, after reading so many of these threads I've compiled a handy bullet list of the reasons that have been offered. Take your pick.
• Virtually all games available on TV or any device
• 102K stadium
• Traffic, traffic, traffic and traffic
• 4 hour plus games with incessant TV time outs
• All day tailgating culture with elaborate tailgates
• Weak OOC opponents
• Corporate “fans”
• Social “fans” who arent’ watching/don’t care about the game
• Smart phones social media, lack of connectivity in stadium
• Dated stadium (concessions, rest rooms)
• Loss of “gametime” atmosphere (piped in music, band, etc)

Ticket lottery:
With 5:00 left in the fourth quarter, a seat shall be drawn. Maybe even 1 in every main section. Instead of announcing the seat number, the staff should make its way to the seat. If the seat is occupied and the person has the correct ticket, they shall win a certain amount of money. Do this for every game. Unclaimed winnings shall be carried over to the next week for that section.

Our infrastructure is unique to Baton Rouge. It's piss-poor terrible. Other cities may have traffic, but not 4 hours to get 30 miles traffic.

You are right. Also, tailgating has turned into an event almost as entertaining as the game. I know people who come out to the stadium for every game but don't even has tickets to the games.

Simple solution to this: confiscate everyone's phone on entering the stadium. You want to leave? Fine, but you're not getting your phone back until after the game ends.

it's a traffic mess. our stadium is too big to handle the volume of parking and traffic.
