If all of those jobs are open at the end of the year, where does LSU rank for the average (no home/alum ties) coach?

You left out important details, such as money.

That's part of the question. Everyone knows Tejas can offer all the oil money. What do you think would be an average coach's ranking of those job openings?

Maybe one of those outside of LSU opens up. Maybe.

i think ND is maybe the most overrated job in football. They haven't been a top destination since 1988.

This.
They have history and that's it.

I agree with what he is saying, but history DOES matter for a school. Prestige.
But they're lacking other things that make them not as big of a destination these days tho.

History matters if you're still capable of living up to it. They aren't.
Honestly the reason they were elite in the 70s and 80s is because they were one of few teams consistently on tv. That was their draw. They have struggled in recent memory with putting guys in the pros, and don't really recruit all that well now because who wants to spend 4 years in south bend.
It was once a great job not not anymore.

I don't get y'all. No one is going to pay a coach much over market price. That may end up being 10mil, but you're absolutely crazy if you think LSU can't stay in that race with ease. It'll come down to where the coach would rather go.

Are you serious? Those other three have more money than LSU. And the pluses at those three probably far outweighs any plus that LSU may think that they have.
Better hope those others win out.

Yet LSU has no issue paying the highest paid staff in the country...but we have no money to pay coaches.
I see why you couldn't get accepted in Bama

1a: Texas
1b: LSU
3. USC
4. ND
If LSU is getting flack for firing Miles after 11+ years (the last 4 underwhelming), imagine if UT fires a good, young coach after 3 and USC fire their coach after one full year. It least a coach considering LSU knows he'll get a fair chance.

Misplaced funding, hardly what I'd call a sound investment. Which is why you guys will end up with choice #4-5.

Yeah, well...I didn't apply. Out of state tuition sucked so I settled for Florida.
Go figure.
