I dont think anyone argues this. He is a great man and has done more for LSU than I ever will have. However, his flaws are becoming more and more obvious. Im just tired of the Miles pity party and I have a feeling this interview will paint LSU in a negative light for doing what we felt we needed to do to get better.

What pity party? Had that last play counted, he'd still be here. That's not remotely debatable. He'd still most likely be gone after his next loss though, and definitely at the end of the year if the first four games were any indication of how this team would perform.
However, people saying he's delusional for what he said in this interview are the delusional ones.

Im exhausted debating with Miles' apologist. If you loved the snippet of the interview here, enjoy Gameday tomorrow. Im sure there will be much more of his astute insight for you to admire tomorrow.

Where exactly am I apologizing for Miles?

And I'm sure a guy who no longer coaches at LSU will continue to rustle your feathers. Take note of the people that bring these things to the rant in the first place - people like you are the ones who still bring him up, not "apologists."

I mean, there's definitely been quite the pity party from a hand full of posters here and obviously ESPN. It's expected, so whatever. But it's definitely happened. People have expressed guilt on here, like they somehow had something to do with Miles being let go, as individuals. And they feel bad for a man who will end up clearing roughly, what, 60M in 11.5 years? Something like that
It's odd to see.

Two words.......Dak Prescott
One second is too long, his time is up.

Why does getting lots of money make getting very publicly fired any better? Les isn't exactly poor.
Regardless, the "pity party" angle is very overblown.

Do you care to point out the inaccuracies in his statement?
The man is great okay? But the comments about him being delusional are not far off. Les never really took responsibility for his immature, undisciplined, mismanaged football team.

nope, that decision had been made, that was just the opportunity to pull the trigger
Right, and if he would've won no trigger is pulled

I mean, he's not wrong. If we win that game, he's most likely still the head coach.
he was gonna get fired whenever they lost again

Sure, but it doesn't make anything in the clip delusional, which is the point.
Quite literally everything Miles said was factually accurate, but people think he's delusional? I mean they may even be right, but that interview is a piss poor example.

The butt of National jokes for his speech, stubbornness, and coaching ability yet now a national treasure that was done wrong by big bad LSU fans. Ha what a joke
Reality: great guy, warm, family orienred, good football coach. Game passed him by due to refusal to adapt to changing times. Message and delivery was stale after 11 years. Time for a change.

As long as he is on ESPN looking for sympathy and LSU is painted negatively, yes he will continue to rustle my feathers.

If his response in the video is indicative of the rest of the interview, then he is indeed delusional. It sounds like he is saying, "If we had 1 more second, and we win the game, everything is fine,I got this, Lol

Regardless of what anyone may think in 10 or so years we are going to look back on Les' tenure and smile. Most of us will look back and say that he was the most "quality person" to ever coach the Tigers. He may never be lauded as the greatest coach in LsU history although he should definitely be mentioned, but he will be remembered as a great man.
What he did with that 2005 team after the hurricane was remarkable. We look back and see the talent and say man that should be a title year but in reality that year may have been his most difficult as a coach. Coming in as the guy after the guy and immediately your season is screwed. You travel on the road when you expect to be home. You play on a Monday when you were supposed to play Saturday. You play what 11 straight weeks without a bye? You lose your starting QB in the SEC title game. And then you blow out a talented Miami team with your back up.

The pity party that will be this interview is absolutely disgusting. He's a hell of a guy. We get it. The crazy uncle or neighbor that everyone loves. He is also a hell of a politician. Les spews bullshite, but says it with so much passion and emphasis that it is hard not to get behind the guy.
He used it to convince LSU fans he was changing, to say that he needed a raise and extension. He used it to buy the personal favor of talking heads around the country and he will use it to turn himself into the victim in this firing and not the problem.
Look at this transcript and please try to understand operationally what he is trying to say. It's all jargon. The guy is a moron organizationally.
TR: How would you describe the significance of the final seconds of the Auburn game in the scope of your career at LSU?
LM: If I had to have one play define who I am I take that one. And here's why. Because there was nothing left. There was not a time left on the clock. There was, everything was running down and our team took the snap without instruction took the snap we had a play called we would be wrong. But the officiating crew without instruction which it’s not guaranteed to do, took a snap, rolled to its right and wins the game. If that play is allowed we win the game. I’ll take that play. I’ll take the very last play that we had. That would be the one. That would be a fighting heart. A group of men that could not be denied. And except for time should have well of won the game.
