re: Amazon 2 day shipping is taking me 6 days to get

I just want to chime in and say don't always count on customer service making it right, at least lately. I ordered an instant pot and the very next day it went on sale for like 30 bucks off. My order hadn't even updated to a processing status when I called customer service to get the difference credited back...I was told I'd have to wait until the order shipped and arrived at my house then request a refund and return the item...in the mean time I would have to order a new one at the sale price. Two different reps told me this over the phone and was told the same thing over chat support.

well, if any consolation they will give you one free month of prime for every time this happened

Just like during the last election. It took a week to get a 2-day priority package from the Post Orifice, but I got every fricking campaign pamphlet without delay.

The first time they tell me this I will be telling them to cancel prime

Thanks to this thread I just realized that when I had this issue two weeks ago and they upgraded me to 1-day shipping to correct it, those frickers charged me $24.97 extra in shipping... definitely just sent a request to refund that charge. Thanks, OT!

I can't complain about them....the retards at UPS tried delivering something to my office at 6am and surprise no one was there to accept it. Amazon went out of their way to refund me the purchase and send me a gift card

Weird. Ive never had it happen and you have it happen around 20 times a year. Are you in a desolate area?
Kind of.

Yea, they have offered to upgrade to 1 day shipping for free which knocked a day off the delivery. They wouldn't give a free month

And that fast, an e-mail that they are refunding the $24.97 in overnight shipping costs that I shouldn't have been charged.
Thanks broke! I would not have caught that otherwise.

Happens to me all the damn time. It "processes" for days, then ships
In 2.

Every time they turn a delivery over to the USPS, it gets royally fricked up.
Trying not to be racist here, but the USPS can suck a bag of dicks.

I am surprised by this. Sometimes we get stuff in one day.
Almost always in two days. Is it coming from a third party? Sometimes they take longer. Good luck.

I order personal and business and only a a couple of times has it not made it in two day. The amount I have saved on shipping is worth a lot more than the $100 and a couple of late shipments.

Same here. Amazon has 5 distribution centers in the PHX area though so that is likely why nothing ever arrives late here.
Their 2 hour delivery service, Prime Now, is pretty awesome as well.

It depends on where it's shipping from. Sometimes the product is advertised as Prime but let's say they don't have your size shoe, it will come from another seller not affiliated with prime. You have to watch that.

I have never NOT gotten an Amazon Prime shipment within 2 days.
I find they have moved up the order by time on most of the stuff I get regularly. For instance I used to be able to order before 6pm on a Monday to have it delivered by Wednesday. Now it's usually by 4am Monday.
Also, 90% of my orders are shipped USPS which blows. Mainly delays related to their BR delivery operations.

USPS will mark things as delivered to be sure to hit amazon's deadline, then not actually deliver to me until a day or 2 later

Give them a call, be polite and just ask if something went wrong and they will 95% of the time fix and and sometimes put it to overnight for free.
I've done this many times and they are more than happy to help. Like other said, it's not a perfect system but they do fix wrongs when they're brought to their attention.
