I ask this question because I'm thinking back to the events of last November.

I think that all of the talk at the end of last season was a power struggle between the Administration/Miles and TAF. TAF wanted change, especially on offence and they made a play which was unsuccessful. Miles came out on top and instead of replacing his buddy with a more innovative OC, he keeps Cameron.

Now, fast forward 10 months and nothing has changed on offense. None of the off-season promises have come to fruition. We still have the same old boring, antiquated, predictable offense.

I'm guessing that one of two things happened:

#1- Miles made a deal last December to save his and Cameron's jobs that fell apart with a weak offense and 2 early season losses.

#2 - TAF finally had enough and forced the Administration's hand to make needed changes.

Either way, I think Miles lost his job by stubbornly protecting his friend. If Miles replaces Cameron after last season, I think he's still the coach, even with a 2-2 record.

This is like arguing over how loud a gun shot was. The only thing that matters is the trigger was pulled.

seems so.

If he had gotten a new OC and shown an effort, then the jury would still be out.

According to nola.com Chavis says they have been trying to fire Miles 2014 or prior.

Miles pulled a Dinardo and remained loyal to his friend/coach and ultimately it cost him both jobs.

Miles' anchor was Cameron, similar to DiNardo's anchor: Tepper.

It may become a narrative but we all know Les' issues predate Cam.

Les got fired for undercoaching the offense. Blame that on Cam if you'd like, but the poorest performance relative to talent was the O-line. That is far more Les than Cam IMO.

Les has a history of stubbornly sticking with obvious underperformers, whether it be coaches or players. While there is a wonderfully anti-Saban human quality to that attribute, it cannot come at severe cost to result. In this case it did. Offensive scheme and execution vs AU and Wisconsin was deplorable.

Certainly not! Miles was fired because of the general lack of discipline on the team.
Miles was because Malachi turned toward the field instead of the sideline.
Miles was fired because they ran 20 seconds off the clock instead of spiking the ball.
Miles was fired because he skipped entire position groups in his annual recruiting classes.
Miles was fired because JC Copeland had to cream that Bama player after the whistle.
Miles was fired because...

...because of a general lack of discipline.
