1) Make both Herman and Jimbo say no
2) If both say no and you throw the bank at them then you pick from this list:

Larry Fedora
Bobby Petrino
Dan Mullen
Gary Patterson
Art Briles
David Cutcliffe

Basically you have Herman come sit down with the TAF. They write checks and make it rain.

Does anyone think Jimbo is coming after last year blew up in their faces. Also, do we want Jimbo? I am not as impressed with him as most others are.

Honestly if we get past Herman and Jimbo (and maybe Petrino)I think we are in deep shite and I wouldn't be opposed to giving the reigns to Aranda as I think he has a higher ceiling than the rest of that crew given his age. Hopefully then we could just throw some crazy money at an up and coming OC like applewhite to run that side.

Jimbo would jump like a toad on hot blacktop.
I'm hoping for better.
But he is a good settle.

Really? Sustained success at the top of a p5 conference. Nat'l championship and a trip to the playoffs. Don't let one bad game affect your opinion of a solid coaching resume and consistent QB developer.

If Herman is not available how about Chris Klieman of North Dakota State? They always contending and winning nation all titles. That is some one that wants to contend every year. I think he's worth a look.

I think we should include Fleck from Western Michigan. That guy has something special.

You are kidding right? What Mullen has accomplished at MS State is nothing short of legendary. He turned a decent fullback into a really good NFL caliber QB and had State ranked number 1 for 5 weeks with very limited talent. Sure, he has the personality of a wet sock, but the guy knows how to get the most from QBs. He would honestly wreck the SEC with LSU talent and a good defensive coordinator.

Probably would turn out to be a good hire but sure isn't an exciting one.

Gary Patterson

Give up on this one. He's not leaving TCU.

And give up on Shaw. He's not leaving Stanford, his alma mater where he's comfortable.

Doesn't Petrino have a huge buy-out?
