Meh. Clemson needs to gain some hype steam before they blow it on the national stage

I give them a decent shot. Will be more entertaining than the NFL game hopefully

I heard a stat on the radio a few minutes ago that Clemson hasn't won in Atlanta since 2003.
Therefore, I like Clemson tonight.

Venables has been good at stopping the option since coming to Clemson. Tigers by 14.

Fun fact, Clemson hasn't won at Georgia Tech since Charlie Whitehurst was playing QB.
GT with the upset!

GT leads the all-time series 50-28-2. To me that's a shocking stat.

Clemson looked pretty sluggish in those first two games. Although they didn't look all that great offensively against Auburn, it was first game on the year, on the road, in a hostile SEC environment. Although offense wasn't clicking on all cylinders, Mike Williams looked like an absolute stud and Clemson's defense did play great. I think Auburn finished with less than a 100 yards rushing against Clemson, but followed up the Clemson loss with 400+ yards rushing against ASU and 200+ yards rushing against aTm. Clemnson's front 7 is legit.
Clemson also didn't look so great, offensively, against Troy, but again, the D looked pretty good. Even though they are a Sun Belt team, Troy followed up the Clemson loss with a win over USMiss., who beat Kentucky in Week 1.
In week 3, Clemson played against one of the worst programs in all of college football. They played their first complete game of the year, dominating on both sides of line of scrimmage all the while getting the starters much rest. 5 QB's completed passes to 15 different WR's.
As far as this game, GT has owned the Clem./GT series in Atlanta. If you are looking for an angle, here are some things pointing in the Jacket's favor:
- Clemson has not won in Atlanta since 2003;
- Paul Johnson is 5-0 at home when GT is unranked playing ranked team;
- Underdog is 20-7 against the spread in last 27 meetings.
- An unranked team has beaten a ranked team on a Thursday night every years since 2002 and six times it involved a top 5 team. Clemson is ranked inside the top 5.
But Tigers have some things pointing in their favor:
- Since Brent Venables was hired, Clemson has won 3 of 4 against GT and the Clemson D has kept GT rushing 100+ yards rushing below its average; The only game Clemson lost since Venables was hired was when D. Watson injured his knee in Atlanta on the second drive two years ago and the incompetent worst QB in America, Cole Stoudt, threw 2 pick 6's to lead GT to the win;
- Clemson is something like 20-2 with Watson as the starter, with Clemson's only losses are to Alabama and GT. Watson only played 2 series against GT two years ago when he blew out his knee. Other than the national championship game, no one has beaten Clemson when Watson started and finished the game;
- Clemson has won 40 in a row against unranked teams.

well tech is pretty awful as per usual so you gotta think clemson takes this.
With that said, tech usually has 1 game a year where they look competitive against someone they shouldn't (see FSU last year). It's also tough to prepare for a mickey mouse HS offense in 1 week.

Well, they did beat an SEC East team by 30 points. Even though it was just Vandy, Vandy was projected to finish 5th in the East.

Georgia tech was a powerhouse program from the early to mid 1900's.

And 60 of the games have been played in Atlanta and about 20 in Clemson.

too many experts have been calling this as a trap game for Clemson for too long. I think Clemson wins by 10+, but will obviously be cheering for GT tonight

Wouldn't surprise me if Tech won.
