Correct and it wasn't a hurricane the second time. It was still a remarkable storm for the track it took and the length of time it lasted.

A buddy of mine already texted me he lost his restaurant last night in Miami beach due to flooding that city is so lucky it's not a direct hit tonight I can't imagine how bad it would have been for that island bc it's so unprepared for flooding of even a minor rain storm

That's what I read on another site and it sounded really interesting.

Earlier posters in the thread stated the wind field usually expands after a replacement cycle, storm gets stronger

If, a big if, the storm has time.
From what I had read, it usually weakens the storm temporarily, and then it intensifies. Considering this thing isn't that far off from where they think it might make landfall... Maybe it won't get that chance, if it becomes a replacement cycle.

Hurricane Hunter found unofficial eye pressure of 936 mb, which implies strengthening despite the weird looks.

Huh? If I'm not mistaken, no rain bands from Matthew were over Miami last night

It just took a little jog east on the radar.

Had to be surge. I've seen flooding on a sunny, clear day.

Maybe I'm being hopeful here, and I know these things bounce around... Does it look like the eye is moving more NNW than NW to anyone else in the final 3 frames or so?

The motion definitely seems more NNW on the Miami radar at the moment. That would be good news for you but keeps Titusville and that area firmly in the path of the center.

Damn...about midway thru that sequence of frames until the end looks like the emergence of the face of a person who is acutely unhappy. Right above the eye of the storm looks like a mouth in the shape of a very stark frown, a little above Miami is the nose, and almost directly across from Coral Springs are the eyes.

Classic case of matrixing, I suppose.
