Anyone else think they belong in the FBS?
Posted on 9/17/16 at 2:09 pm to MikeHoncho47
Absolutely.
But they should stay in FCS and continue to dominate

They don't want in, because they like killing the FCS every year.

They will get some top 25 votes

They get far more exposure in FCS than they would being a middle of the pack team in FBS

Yes, probably in the mountain west?

Power 5 is gonna stop scheduling them.

Why join the FBS? Your options:
1. Win every national championship.
2. Fight to maybe earn a berth in the Popeye's Bahamas Bowl.
All of these schools that either made the leap or started a brand new program at the top thought that these things would be cash cows and they just aren't. You can't invent tradition.

They stuffed the ball right down Iowas throat
5X FCS Champions
Carson Wentz starting for the Eagles.
They are better than a lot of FBS teams...

Maybe independent because they don't want the MAC. But they are one of the most consistent teams of the last 6 years.

YES! I've thought for a long time that the North Dakota schools belong in D1. They both average around 25K attendance and bring more to college football than the 8 D1 schools in Ohio that barely get 15K to come to their games.

No.
Going back in history, Troy was a top 10 program in Division 2. They're a nobody now. Jacksonville State stayed in D2 and now gets to play for championships.
I think I'd rather be Jacksonville State.

Why?
They'd turn into Idaho with their little 20k seat stadium and no appeal to FBS level recruits.

Troy was 1-AA
Jax St moved up from 2 to 1-AA now FCS
NDSU won't move they are content because they also have other sports that are doing well in the Summit.

Yea, you're right. Getting my divisions mixed up.

They would dominate the MAC if they were to join.
The Mountain West would be a good fit for them, especially if Colorado St ends up in the BIG XII.
Appalachian St and Georgia Southern have found success in FBS since joining.

Yeah, but they'll never win national championships.

people forget they'll have to add about 75 scholarships and not sure they'll have the money.
