That is why replacing Les Miles will not be a burden for LSU. Coaches with a burning desire to be the best will practically beat a path to the door.
That is what Florida and Texas thought when they had to find new coaches. Neither of those schools got their guy.
Don't read this as an endorsement for Miles. It is time for a change, but money, a deep recruiting base, and great facilities do not inherently equate to an easy sell with a prospective coach.
Remember Joe Alleva (Trent Johnson, Johnny Jones) and the Fking joke are running the show.

quote:I disagree about Florida. When Meyer quit they hired Muschamp whom everyone thought was the right guy at the time. He was a bust, and his defensive priority weren't going to be replicated. Their next hire was an attempt to recreate their success with Meyer. They hired a young guy with recent success in a non-P5 conference who id regarded as an offensive innovator.

Texas was an interesting situation. There were serious internal political issues occurring, and the coaching search effort was hardly unified. Despite that I think they found themselves a good one in Charlie Strong. It may have taken longer than expected, but I see a team with improved talent being utilized effectively.

So sick of this shite.
LSU isn't those schools. THOSE SCHOOLS HAVE BIG UNIVERSITIES IN STATE TO COMPETE WITH. LSU does not.
NEITHER of those schools will recruit like LSU once LSU is established.
MILES IS PROOF THAT AN AVERAGE COACH CAN MAKE THE TRANSITION TO LSU.. he was no special coach.. and even he had success off the talent here..
LSU was not as established until Saban..
We need to stop settling and Miles isn't getting it done any more. He has regressed

This is what scares me the most. Its time for a new coach no doubt, but nothing Alleva or F King have ever done make me think they will make a good hire!

we won everything - don't need a good coach
