Sadly mistaken... I think STTDB is bred into every freshman class these days.

I don't know why people won't let go of Neck. Dumbest song ever. SO glad that it's gone.
This. And everyone and their mother plays it now. Not sure why some of our fans think it's some unique LSU thing. Ooh, ooh, hopefully we play Seven Nation Army.

Also, remember, Neck was not allowed to be played on 1/9/12.
That was the only game that season when the song was not played.
Neck was also played before or during every gamewinning drive or defensive stop during the 2010 "Heart Attack Tigers" season.
It was not played during LSU's 2009 bowl game loss to Penn State.
It was played sparingly in 2008, and never so in any of the games we lost.
It was played right at the turning point of the 2012 game against A&M.
Neck was the secret weapon of LSU's football team because it could manufacture momentum out of nothing.

As the person that "wrote" the drum parts to it (with my Co-Captain), the first year we played it was 2006.

Pretty sure they played it throughout the 1958 season. It was then banned until 2003.

This is true, don't you remember the gif of the girl at the basketball game a year or two ago saying STTDB

They played Neck as early as 2006. Any earlier than that I wasn't there to witness.
I know STTDB was not around before 2009. I think in 2009 it actually started off as "talking out the side of your neck, bitch"

I don't think STTDB started until 2010. It was a direct response to the banning of Oweo due to the inclusion of "You suck!", which became "You suck, cock!" During the South Carolina game of 2007. The administration pushed to replace "you suck!" with "tigers!" in 2009, but it never really caught on. Oweo was banned, seemingly for good, midway through 2010, leading to the rise of STTD;B in protest.

I think you are right. I was just saying, at the very least, it wasn't around before then. 2009 was my last season in the student section.

Yeah, it definitely wasn't there then. I was in the band from 2009-2012 and I remember the series of bannings from oweo, earthquake, neck, ect.

4) 2012-2015 Seasons - following the complaints of misguided, uptight pricks such as yourself, GBFTL prohibited from playing "NECK" at LSU games - result, 2012: 10-3, 2013: 10-3; 2014: 8-5; and 2015: 9-3
Neck was played in Nov 15' against TAMU

I'm glad they don't play it. The more it is "banned" the more the legend grows.
I also don't enjoy having to explain to my 7 year old what they are saying. Nothing like STTDB to really nail home the family environment.
