Where Were You on 9/11?

I'll never forget that morning, September 11th, 2001. I was in 8th grade. I had just gotten off the bus, and the teachers were directing everyone inside the gym, instead of waiting outside before school started like all of us students usually did. I remember I met up with my best friend and he asked me, "Have you watched the news this morning"? I hadn't watched the news that morning, so I had no idea what was going on.
He then told me about the planes that had crashed into the World Trade Center. At the time, I didn't realize what the World Trade Center was. I had seen the World Trade Center on tv and in the movies, but I guess I never realized those two tall towers in New York City were called the World Trade Center. I was shocked to hear the news, and the whole day felt unreal to me. Tragic news story after tragic news story, just a very dark day in our history.

Mushers cabin in Meadow Lakes, AK. Didn't have power and no tv. A lady came and informed my S/O and I of what happened and I didn't believer her. She had a tendency to exaggerate. We went to her house and watched the second tower fall. Strange day indeed.

I was at work. Was told something was happening on TV, and went into the lab and everyone was glued to the TV. This was about 9:15am.

I was in 7th or 8th grade. School was basically cancelled the rest of the day and numerous kids went home. The entire week, school was just nonstop TV coverage.

Just finished a run with 2 ARMY captains, cooling off at a local health club, watched the breaking news on a big screen at the food bar, stayed there till 4pm watching CNN

Second grade. The teacher didn't turn the tv off in the classroom until the first tower collapsed. I'll never forget that

First period English 4 at Jesuit. Got the TV on just in time to see the second plane hit. A lot of us were ready to go fight a war that day.

High school in the hallway and someone said "did you hear the World Trade Center got hit?"
Honestly I had never heard of the WTCs and we went to classroom and turned on news. Pretty surreal after that

Just woke up from partying the night before. Walked into the living room after the first tower was hit. All my roommates were up watching TV and I though it was a movie at first glance.

I was a senior in high school. Needed 3 classes to graduate and my first class wasn't until 10 AM. I was playing Snood at home by myself when my uncle called and asked if my dad was still home. He then told me to turn on the TV.
