I dont see why he wouldnt be, he's also been a name NFL media has thrown out in just about every coaching search too.

You go and get Tom Herman, whatever it costs.

How red-assed would Jimbo be if LSU got Herman.

Les beat him out for the job in 2005;

he and Les famously butted heads over play calling for two years;

He's (allegedly) all but assured to replace Miles at the end of last year;

Les survives by the fore of his skin;

He hangs on juuuuuuust long enough for Herman to become LSU's main target and miss out on the job for a third time

ETA: I'd still pick Jimbo--LSU is reportedly one of his "dream jobs." The risk of Herman bolting to the NFL and returning to replace Saban at Alabama in 2021 is too great.

If we want a successful program long term, I see HERMAN as the premier guy, the next "Saban". Everything about him is quality, young an relates to his players, recruits incredibly well, football IQ off the charts, competitive, I read somewhere he graduated top of his class. Learned from Urban Meyer, who would have 3 QB Back ups ready to jump in and win the NC. LSU could never have that the last (11) years. Les needs to retire and we should not settle for less than Herman until we know he isn't interested. Kiffen & Briles & Petrino do not have the character to lead young men, nor Fedora. He is going from job to job to get into NFL as quick as he can. It would be a dream come true and new day at LSU with Tom Herman.

Dan Mullen is very worthy of consideration and he is a offensive mind and can develop QB'S.

Mullen is a prick who is hated by his former employer so much, that, despite being the architect of a semi-dynasty offense, he wasn't even considered, TWICE, to coach again at Florida.

Promote Orgeron to HC with a prove it 3 year deal

Retain all the other coaches. Hire a rockstar OC

Recruiting class is saved. Minimum number of transfers. Stability retained

It isn't sexy, but it is the best way to maximize what is currently in place and cut out the cancer that is The Les Miles Offense

I really could get on board with this, as long as there's a staff member following Bebe around making sure he stays in compliance. He would definitely attract a young, energetic, elite OC to go along with he and Aranda. If this happens, though, I see Aranda jumping at the first semi decent HC offer he gets. But Bebe would make sure we bring in another elite DC.

Never won the sec as a head coach, has lost to the likes of NC state and wake forrest as ahead coach, and FSU recruited well way before Jimbo ever got there. Florida is loaded with talent, they have quadruple the talent Louisiana has.

Let's see how this team does this year without the first pic in the draft. They didn't do so well last season without him.

What did Les win before he got the job? What about Saban?

FSU hadn't sniffed an NC in 10 years before Jimbo arrived. And they went 7-6 in three of four seasons before Bowden arrived. I agree with you that Florida is loaded with talent, but Louisiana is loaded with talent and there is no other state school that competes with LSU for that talent. And let's face it, the only coach that didn't get good recruits at LSU in my life was Mike Archer. Even brainless Curley managed to get some good recruits. LSU recruits itself basically.

FSU won 10 games in a rebuilding year last year and won 29 freaking games in a row when they had that great talent. That tells me he knows how to win big when he has great talent (like Les has this year).

Fisher?
The ship has sailed away. It's Hermann or burst. No one else.

We have a way better chance of getting Jimbo than Herman. Not sure where all this confidence that we could get Herman came from...

Who says? You? I would love Herman, but either would be way better than Miles at this point.

Remember when Mark Hudspeth was an "up and coming" head coach? I really hope LSU doesn't reach out to this guy.

Think Hud wasted his chance to move up to the big time. Not sure if he was ever offered a P5 job, though.

Let's go retro.

Why not give Curley a do-over, and bring in Mike Archer as DC?

What's up with this love of Briles?? He doesn't fit LSU at all. LSU is known for a power running attack and stout defense. Neither of which were prevalent at Baylor under Briles. No thanks.

Ideally, Jimbo is what we need. He'll stay around for a while and provide stability. He'll bring a new offensive scheme that retains the power running elements and keep our strong defensive mindset.

If we go the up and coming coach route, obviously, Herman is at the top of the list, BUT, there's no guarantee that he'll stick around if the NFL comes calling.

I would prefer the in house route and promote Aranda. By all accounts, he's an intelligent coach and I feel like he would be smart enough to bring in a guy who could field a decent offense to complement his defense and be able to manage this program.
