Had my annual physical yesterday and got the doc to test for low-T. It came back right on the cut of normal/low and he wants to test again.

Anybody else had this and had success with treatment?
So he tested you, and needs to do another test to tell you the same? Sounds like a money scheme. Who cares if you got low t and a limp dick?

Don't let them just start injecting you... Better fricking read up.

At minimum if injections start you need at least 1 a week if not every 5 days.

I split my dosage and started doing subcutaneous injections with a 29 gauge insulin needle 3 times a week (split dosage I to three categories).

GET YOUR ESTRODIOL CHECKED (e2) as they call it. Keep that shite around 22-25... Estrogen blocks your androgen receptors and can drop your testosterone. If you are just barely low T and your estrogen is over 35-40 then drop the weight and the spare tire and your estrogen will stop being converted to testosterone (called aromatasing). This is very important.

Some people need an aromatase inhibitor to drop it. A lot of that will bring testosterone back up. Workout. Heavy. Big muscle groups.

At least have them run tests on everything like your thyroid to make sure what's causing the low test.

If your doctor disagrees with 1 shot a week or running e2 find a new doctor.

Be warned. Testosterone will stop natureal production and will kill your sperm count unless you take some HCG to keep your testicles working

Edit: estrogen follows testosterone. You have to keep that Dow . If you don't you will get bloating. Weak erections. Anxiety. You will lose the positive effects. First few shots will feel great. After two or three you may feel a dropoff. Check your bloodwork at 3 and 6 week intervals and adjust dosing.

Should get the following:

Free/total T
Estrogen level
Prolactin
SHBG

Below is a link for lifestyle modifications to bolster testosterone production and prevent conversion via aromitization (mainly via excess body fat)

LINK

If you need testosterone replacement, this can be done very safely. For most folks the pros outweigh the cons. There is a ton of misinformation regarding testosterone. Sit down with a good MD to review this in depth.

If you are in Baton Rouge, I can recommend an MD well versed in managing this..

Low-T is the adult ADD. Eat natural unprocessed foods, lift heavy shite every day and tell the doctor and bigpharma to shove their chemicals up their arse.

While reading this thread I was thinking why is this a issue now? Never heard of low T in the 70s, 80s, 90s, maybe just in the last 10 years.

What is your level? And what is the range of values deemed normal on your test?

Wrong. No causal links to what you have listed

Lowers all cause mortality while improving quality of life in overwhelming majority of studies

What is the heart disease risk of the untreated man who has low T with resultant / concurrent diabetes, obesity, HTN, erectile dysfunction, pseudodepression who comes home and has to take daily naps just to get through the day.....

anxiety issues as of late which is what prompted me to ask about Low T when I read an article that Low T can lead to depression like feelings and increased worry.

Get your estrodiol checked. There is a ratio you want to keep. At least 20:1... 30:1 is great. The anxiety can be a side effect of the estrogen. If it's ok just beware if you have anxiety before once they inject you and the estrogen spikes with the testosterone you might have a solid panic attack. Don't freak out. If you get on weekly injections your estrogen will peak at 24-48 hours. Get a journal. Having that and writing it down is a great tool.

Switch to high protein mornings. Lots of natural fiber. Eat out of glass containers. No more heating up shite in plastic. If you have a water glass at work get a real glass or yeti type stainless. Plastics are estrogenic. So is beer. If you drink a lot of beer switch to hard liquor. Way less calories and way less estrogenic.

I've fought this shite after a multi year round of a chemotherapy type drug for my AC/crohns disease

More adipose tissue = more aromatase (enzyme in fat) = skewed testosterone to estrogen ratio

You get the idea

Mine were crazy low after a year if fertility treatments. Like around 200 at the age of 32 which is the test level of an 80 year okd. I now take shots and its been a huge improvement in quality of life.
