I love Nirvana... but I agree in the sense that labels tried to find the next big "grunge/alt" band.. that led to god awful bands like Bush, STP, etc... the list is endless

Bruce is one that always what comes to mind for me on this subject. I would make the Doors a runner-up. There are a ton of bands like Zep that I don't like, but sort of understand the appeal.
