As I watched highlights from that game today after i read morgantown post. Jarrett made some nice throws, held together in a hostile environment, and I was there for a small stadium it got loud. Still dont get why he didn't play in the national championship

Because every time he came in a game he would throw a touchdown to the defense

Because he was incredibly immobile (and worse on the run), so if JJ wasn't able to escape the Bama D line pressure, Lee definitely wasn't going to either.

If jimbo or any other decent QB coach would of stuck around for his first few years, I think it would of been different. Steve Kragthorpe really helped him out in 2011.

Because Les Miles hates you and did it to piss you off.

Now that's settled...........piss off.

Because we had JJ at quarterback and he is the best college football player of all time. I can't believe they robbed him at the combine by ranking in the worst player there.

J. Lee threw one pick against Moo St before the Bama game....against Bama he threw a pick that was a receiver's fault then rushed a bad throw off of a terrible snap....8-0 with no JJ and one pick...two early picks against Bama and Miles goes back to his non-throwing QB love affair....'08 was a terrible season for J. Lee thx to being unprepared as a freshman and thrown to the wolves....I say he was hardly a bad QB....when Lee lead us down the field against Kentucky in '11 season and Les gave JJ the glory td to cap the drive fresh off his suspension we all knew we were screwed

The ONLY thing Miles, in his great wisdom, changed from the first game was taking Lee out of the equation.
Eta: the ONLY right thing, too.

I still can't believe people are arguing the Bama game point. Lawd! 2 mediocre quarterbacks. One can at least escape with his legs and didn't throw the ball up for grabs at the first sign of pressure is the one I would be going with.

Lee was not the most amazing qb ever but he gets dogged way more than he should. He got thrown in a year early on a team with the worst defense LSU has had in 25 years. He had good numbers. Just threw too many picks. Which isn't uncommon for first year plauers

Go watch the bama game. We put him in a no win situation. One man routes and running play action giving him no time to see the defense.

I am not one of the guys that always makes excuses for him but I think it's wrong to just say oh he sucked

Lee throws the most easy to catch ball I've ever seen. Problem is even DB's can catch it.

At least we would have had a chance with him vs Bama. The ball would have moved. They game planned for JJ and we gave them JJ.

I think it was second pick, Lee saw pressure and just turned away and threw the ball. The first was even worse, as he had two guys wide open, no pressure even after the dropped snap and just threw it down the seam straight to the safety.

There were no excuses for Lee, he can't handle pressure from the defense and collapses
