Started Poking around on their website after the first thread. The Genesis seems nice but is it overpriced? Seems like Lexus prices for it.
What do owners think?

Looks like a $60k car to me

The Equus car and price is more egregious than that

I believe. If you stay Hyundai, go equus

Especially if it comes with two bottles of water.

No, that's a $70-$80 K German competitor car with a Korean badge.
They've had phenomenonal reviews for years.

Just buy it the next year for 19,900 with 9 years left on the warranty

It has been about 2 years since I've driven those cars and then driven German cars, but at the time, the Koreans had a ways to go.
Switchgear and NVH were lacking compared to the competition.

I think mine was around $55k, with all the bells and whistles. You can't get a 5 series for that price, fully loaded. For the price, it is a damn good car. I recommend.

Well they want 50-70k for a pickup truck these days for gods sake

Hyundai has really upped their game.

unless something amazing has happened in a year, that is like the super duper V8 with all the bells and whistles
mine was around $34k as a base model and it's nice af. i do think the prices went up a bit this year
i leased mine last year
this site has some 2016s in the low-mid 30s for the base model

It is a damn good looking car. FWIW, it is only about $42k in the base model, but you can get it up there with the bigger engine and extra trim.
Hyundai also dropped their name for the 2017 models. The "regular" Genesis is now the Genesis G80 and the Equus is the Genesis G90. They'll eventually have 6 vehicles in the Genesis line by 2020. The G80 Sport was unveiled in March:

This is the current Genesis coupe concept, the Genesis G60:
The Genesis Coupe hasn't been redone in forever, but considering how good the Genesis and Equus looked, I expect great things under the new Genesis badge.

Genesis is a damn fine automobile.

These are really nice. Have a look the the Azeras, also a nice car. Made to go head to head with the likes of Avalons.

my parents have a genesis rspec, it's very nice and very fast (for a big car)
only problem is mom drives like a bat out of hell and the low profile tires don't hold up. i think they're on number 9 replacement

Picked up a 2013 Genesis sedan as a repo for $20K...been a great car, 333hp V6. Get about 38mpg on highway. It's not a true sport sedan or German competitor IMHO, more of a cruiser. Extremely quiet and has all the bells and whistles...only dislike is you can't fully defeat the traction control.
