You're that guy that wears LSU gear but gets mad after the first incomplete pass is thrown and hopes they lose aren't you? I can see you now just yelling at the TV and cursing everything that is LSU.
Actually, just the opposite. I would definitely not be considered a negatiger. I know there is only one midget two states to the east who sold his soul to the devil to win football championships and don't think LSU can do any better than what they have right now.
Hell, people wanted Jimbo Fisher to be the head coach of LSU and he lost three games last year also. Including losses to Georgia Tech and Houston. And they were going to pay Jimbo more than they pay Les.
No, in this thread I am being cantankerous because of the people you described in your post.
Article: Source says Travonte looks good 330 pds and is smarter than he used to be.
Rantard: Oh MY GOD, Travonte is the missing piece. LSU will win NC's as long as he is here and then LSU will get someone who's two or three times better than him.
Then the first game happens and the Tard's world comes crashing back to reality and this board becomes a constant bitch fest the remainder of the year. It's NC or nothing for a majority of the Tards like it is a god given right.
I think it would be better to temper expectations of LSU's greatness until at least the first half of the Wisconsin game is in the books. And that is not a long enough period to determine how good a team is or is going to be.
I don't know if it is the cajun/coonass blood in LSU fans but they are as predictable as sunrise and sunset. During the summer they forget about the previous year and players lost and somehow determine this year's LSU team is going to be the best ever. Only to become totally pissed off and betrayed because the team let them and their unrealistic expectations down.
They are just like a coonass at work. He is either extremely pissed off or extremely happy (except maybe when he's asleep and I doubt it even then). No middle ground. The funny thing is that this happens EVERY freakin year. Are they not smart enough to remember last year? Do they remember but don't care because they know they are right this time and LSU is going to be the GOAT this year.
It really is comical to me until I have to totally avoid this board for sometimes weeks at a time because of the expectations dreamed up and placed upon the LSU team EVERY year by the posters here.

Why no announcement? Does anyone know what is going on? His grades were supposedly released Saturday, but now there are crickets.

That's exactly what you are. You're so offended by optimism that you actually said you avoid this board around this time of year.
That alone makes you a "negatiger."
Just because you think you're being realistic or reasonable when you attempt to dampen others' excitement and hope for the season, that doesn't mean you're not a pessimist.
Oh, and this...

If you had read and and comprehended my post you would have realized that it is not the optimism that offends me. It is the total unforgiving meltdowns that occur during the season that is the direct result of the unrealistic off-season optimism.
For example, some team's fans can realize that they had two offensive linemen drafted into the NFL so their team may not be as good or it will at least take time for the new OL to jell and get better.
LSU fans, RIGHT NOW, will tell you, I'm sure you've read it on this board, that the LSU OL is going to better than last years. Yep, lost two OL to the draft and a TE who may be a starting left tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles and LSU's line is for sure going to be more dominant than last year. They know this and LSU has not played a down of football for the 2016 season.
So now every false start, holding or other penalty will bring a full melt because the OL isn't living up to the LSU fan's projected greatness.
Think about it - two OL drafted and this guy "Undrafted rookie Dillon Gordon was the star of offensive-defensive line one-on-ones. He owned defensive end Marcus Smith during one pass rush. He just kept pushing Smith away from getting closer to the objective. Gordon did the same to rookie defensive tackle Aziz Shittu. During early team drills, Gordon was at left guard and he mauled Logan with a trap block. By the end of practice he was at left tackle." And there is no doubt among Rantards that this years OL will be MUCH better than last years. Pfff !!!

WTF is wrong with you?
LSU returns two lineman starters who were ALL AMERICAN freshman.. They should be better by experience and in strength alone..
LSU also returns one of the best linemen in the nation who is a top 2 round projected NFL prospect in Ethan Pocic.. and will be a Senior anchoring that line.
The other guys are also experienced and a year stronger. They aren't young guys any more.
You are in fact extremely negative and ridiculous. It's fine if you want to be skeptical, but you take it a level I can't understand why you are even a fan.
I have seen a number of respectable non bias rankings have LSU as a top 10 offensive line this season.

Oh my. Every one huh? It's part of the experience if the team commits penalties and you are displeased. No one is taking it that serious except you. You are being worse here. Again, what is wrong with you? You seem miserable.

LSU returns far more than they lost.. especially compared to other teams.
We haven't had this type of balance in quite some time.
Here let me help your ignorance out..
Alabama Returning starters: 7 offense, 5 defense
Clemson Returning starters: 8 offense, 3 defense
Michigan Returning starters: 8 offense, 6 defense
Oklahoma Returning starters: 7 offense, 7 defense
LSU Returning starters: 9 offense, 9 defense
Baylor Returning starters: 5 offense, 5 defense
Stanford Returning starters: 6 offense, 5 defense,
Notre Dame Returning starters: 5 offense, 5 defense
Ole Miss Returning starters: 4 offense, 4 defense
Ohio St Returning starters: 3 offense, 3 defense
Experience + Talent is extremely important.. and LSU has both.
You could actually assess other team's as well instead of just being negative towards LSU. LSU is in a much greater position than most teams.
You think a tight end loss is that big, LSU has no issue with blocking tight ends contributing. That's great if he changes positions in the NFL. LSU returns a Senior starting tight end, and a healthy Senior starting Fullback, who most announcers were raving about being among the best at his position..
Again more additions than subtractions.. more experience.

So rather than focus on the bad (the "meltdowns") you want to curb the good (optimism)? People raging over losses is a symptom of lack of critical thinking abilities, lack of football knowledge, alcohol, and the inability to handle disappointment.
So, why don't we ask people to be reasonable with their reaction to negatives rather than seeking to curtail optimism and excitement?

Thank you for proving my point. You are the perfect example of what I was trying to explain.
The greatness of the LSU team, who hasn't played one down, is undeniable.
I would hate to see your melt if/when LSU loses a game this year.

No it's not. However, it certainly has been defined that way by our contemptible and orwelian PC culture. We're supposed to scrupulously pretend that there are no differences in races or ethnicities even though they're as plain as the nose on your face.
So, no, africans can't run faster, jews aren't more driven, muslims don't blow more things up, anglos aren't more trustworthy, japanese don't take more photographs, and greeks aren't more difficult to govern...but they are!

You see, most of us realize that we are FANS of the GAME. We have enough going on in our lives that our self worth is not significantly impacted by whether LSU wins or loses, so we can be enthusiastically optimistic in the pre-season and still not melt if things don't completely work out.
On the other hand, melters and negatigers are flip sides of the same coin. Melters can't handle the blow of a loss to their psyche, and negatigers can't either, so they protect their fragile ego's by not allowing themselves to believe. Yet, they still need the boost just in case the team does win. That is why they just don't go away. In my opinion, the negatigers like you are worse, because not only are you not brave enough to actually hope, but you also act all high and mighty, criticizing anyone elso who can.

Well by-god, that means LSU will win the national championship if Davon says he is that good. I wonder if LSU wins consecutive NC's or if it will be every other year for the foreseeable future
By the way not a single person mentioned NC in this thread, this is all that happened:
- OP shares tweet about Godchaux talking about Valentine
- you say Godchaux has never seen Valentine play
- article is posted saying you are wrong
- you say article title is bullshite and Valentine was class of 14 and was at CC in 15
- it's shown article title was copy and pasted from article, and the 14 class was at LSU in 14
- you proceed to melt after having no comeback, and the melt is about something that wasn't even brought up in this thread
- you proceed to then talk shite about people who melt
