Yeah, I know reading some threads here and shaggy, people recommended places like John Mueller Meat Co and La Barbacue. I had a good meal at Freedmens a few months ago. I think it was open late and had a full bar, unlike most others. Everybody will recommend Torchy's for your taco fix.

I live within about 30 seconds of Torchy's so it's nice to have for a quick fix.

Once again, the resident from cosmopolitan Sachse, TX is so upset about Austin he can't help himself but say dumb shite.

Austin is over twice the size of New Orleans with 1/5 less murders. You'll be fine.

Rainy Street. Look it up. Awesome concept for a bar district. Craft Pride has over a hundred beers, and an awesome pizza truck parked in the back. Live music. After that start walking down rainy. Don't like a place or what the crowd looks like? Keep walking. Next place is a driveway over. From fancy mixology to cool sit down places to trendy looking "container" or "cube" themed place?

Each place is an old house. It was once a neighborhood. So each place has a front patio where the front yard used to be and a back patio or stage where the backyard used to be. The old (some historic) house may have been left as the bar or a new building replaced some, but not many.

Truth. Go to Black's on Lamar or Terry Blacks on Barton Springs. Unless you have had Franklin's and others in Central Texas, you won't know the difference and it will be better than what you probably have had before by a good measure. Of course if you want to spend 1/2 your day in line and still risk not getting anything then so be it.

Ya, my plan with any food place like that is "one and done"

I'll do it one time, get the experience, then go somewhere where I don't waste my limited time on Earth for incremental increase.
