Nearly got in fight with film crew in front of St Louis Cathedral

I went down there today to do some street photography. Just as I got there I see a film crew shooting something with George Lopez. There are a lot of people standing around, taking pics with iPhones and simple point and shoots. I walk up with my gear and just as I raise to grab a pic, some crackhead looking crew member decides I was paparazzi and gets in front of me to block me. Tell him a thing or two and try to take a picture again. He puts his hand on my lens to cover it and I nearly lost it. I tell him "If you touches me or my camera again, I will frick you up!" I had to keep my cool because I was carrying my pistol and didn't want to lose it to the cops. He walks away, I take a pic and then "security" shows up. I laughed in his face and asked him what the frick he was going to do and walk away.

I work in film and I agree with what you did, except you shouldn't have given in and left. It's part of my job to ask people not to take pictures while we're shooting and whatnot, and I'd never be rude because in the end, I can't legally prevent you from taking pics on a public street, and we're just making a fricking movie. I ask politely and if someone doesn't want to, I tell production the person is not going to stop and there's nothing more I can do about it.
