also have to look at it from the standpoint that guys like grillo and walker aren't winning this tournament.
if you go back to the beginning of 2013, pretty much all of the major winners have been world-class, top 15 players. except maybe jason dufner.
so stenson at -6 is the top guy the chasers should be looking at right now.

The difference in the size of Els with both Fowler and Johnson is
No way in hell Johnson is 5'11"

Don't forget about Danny Willett.
I personally think Martin Kaymer will pull it out. Right now at 51 in the OWGR.

Don't forget about Danny Willett.
danny willett was the 12th-ranked player in the world the week of the masters.
so yes, he was very good.
kaymer is a bit of an anomaly, considering how accomplished of a player he is.
pga champion
#1 in the world
players champion
sank the winning putt at the ryder cup
us open champion
all before he turned 30. kaymer has the game to win 4-5 majors.

Greens do not look good right now.

mickelson just gave an easy chance away

Duly noted.

Just walked back in from yard work. What happened?

If Jimmy can keep the ball in the fairway, he will win this tournament. He's always been an exceptional putter.

stuck it close on 9. within 8 feet. had it lip out.
mickelson at +1. needs one more stroke to get to that even par number heading to 17.
lead looks like it could be all the way up to -11 before it's all said and done. so maybe mickelson and mcilroy need to get up to -2 or -3 to have a shot.
what do y'all think the winning score will be? i was thinking -12 before the tournament. looking a little higher than that now. what can they do to make the course play tougher besides just keeping the greens as dry as possible?

They can always cut and roll the frick out of the greens to get 'em rolling around 13-14. Pin placements. Most of it depends on how much the rain keeps the course soft though. I think 18 wins it.

that's too low.
assuming it's not walker or grillo, that would require stenson or koepka or someone to shoot 64-64 on the weekend of a major. or reed, day, or kaymer to shoot 63-64 on the weekend of a major.
and if it is a guy like walker, do you really expect him to shoot 65-65-66-66? no.

Mike Weir can't hit a driver 290. No wonder he thought that was gonna be short of the bunker.

I'm gonna have to watch this tournament on mute. I knew the fans where gonna be bad because it's in New Jersey, but they are taking it to another level. As the day wears on its getting worse and worse.

day should be -8 or something, if he could have made anything yesterday. he's just playing lights out right now. he could end up being your winner.
mickelson is playing really well to still be over par. hacked it around some yesterday, but if you take away the first hole, he has played great. he's missed at least 3 birdie putts under 8 feet. he probably feels like he should be -5 or -6 right now, and he's +1.
mcilroy is just being his new self. frustrated, can't make any putts, finding all kinds of bunkers and rough. i'm sure if he somehow sneaks inside the cut line, he'll have a 64 or 65 round in him once he's out of contention. once no one is watching him, rory is pretty great.

jimmy walker in a little trouble on 17, but he can lay up and still be okay.

DJ's +9 is a real stunner this week. He looked thinner than normal to me. I wonder if he started snorting again.
