LC gets hated on by many, but it's a cool place without the foolery of NO or BR.

The Shrimp Poboy is underwhelming. Atmosphere is cool though.

yep.

anyway, there's no applebees. LC has tons of local non-chain cuisine, but this board will never admit it.

I'd suggest just finding a meal at the casino if I were in town for a night. and then grabbing drinks at one of the bars in the casinos.

As a recent BR to LC transplant, I agree. Can be anywhere in the city in 10 minutes...its glorious. My only complaint is I got a ticket for running a red light at Lake and 18th. It was my fault, I ran it on purpose...so I'll deal with that...but I'm 99% sure LCPD runs a racket at that intersection late at night.

Two decades ago, I could understand the hate... a decade ago it still kind of sucked.

Now, with the casinos, revitalized downtown, and finally starting to get more restaurants on the southwest side of town, it's definitely gotten better.

And, as always, there's Darrells.

I've never actually been inside the city of Lake Charles in about 15 years. The only time I get off the interstate is to go to Darrels.

Either casino.
Calla is amazing.
Luna is always great.
Only been to Rikenjaks once, but it was excellent.
