I'm not sure how to classify The Martian Chronicles by Bradbury, but I'd have to imagine it's the GOAT in whatever category it falls. Though, I'm sure you've already read it.

not sure what a novella is but:
A Canticle for Liebewitz
If you like The Twilight Zone check out some stories by Robert Sheckley, such as "The Monsters"

More short stories, but Kurt Vonnegut has some great ones.
I've re-read "Welcome to the Monkey House" a few times.
It's a collection of shorts.

Dianetics by L. Ron Hubbard. Haven't read it myself but it has an insanly nuts cult following.
Serious answer: Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

The "partials" series should have gotten the movie deal instead of hunger games and the fifth wave. Much better story.

I think there is technically a word limit to a novella, but I don't remember what it is.
Keeping that in mind I will recommend Mefisto in Onyx by Harlan Ellison.

A Scanner Darkly, The Man in the High Castle--you've probably read these, but here's a reminder that Phillip Dick is your man. Just go back and grab whatever you haven't read of his.

I don't know who wrote it, but I read a short story sci fi in my LSU science fiction English class... It was called "Cold Equation". Find it online and read it while you decide on what novel to read.

If you have any affinity for the 80's, Ready Player One is excellent. Steven Spielberg is directing the movie coming out in 2017.

The Silo Series (Wool, Shift and Dust). These three books were incredible and they are adapting Wool to film. At least read Wool and decide from there, but you will be hooked.
