Duck, Teal, Dove hunting around BR

Any hot spots within 45 mins of BR? Due to moving, marriage, and kids I haven't kept up with hunting and definitely don't know this area. Duck/real would have to be pirogue or walking access.

The sherburne south farm area has lottery hunts that are drawn at 4:30AM several times a week. Just gotta show up to throw your name in the hat. That's almost the only public place you can get to within 45 mins of BR. It's pretty hit or miss, but hell sometimes people kill a limit there. More the exception than the rule though.
If you dont get drawn for the lottery hunt, you can drive to the main body of sherburne off of the whiskey bay exit and there are some places you can walk in, but there are a lot of people that hunt there and the pressure is pretty bad from what I hear. Still, if you're desperate for somewhere close it's the only other place within 45 mins of BR. If you want to drive a little farther (1.5 hrs) there are several more WMAs/NWRs to the east that you can pirogue in on.

I'm familiar with Honey Island and the Northshore.
If it was a decent area I'd drive 2 hours. I figured 45 mins might be cutting it thin.

Lots of people hunt Joyce, East of I-55 during teal season. The access I have seen is pirogue only. Not sure how they do. There are always a couple green jeans waiting for them in the parking lot.

Then you have a ton of options. One thing to consider is total time from leaving your house to being set up to hunt. Just because the drive is physically shorter, doesn't necessarily mean you can afford to get up later. Sometimes a 2hr drive means you only need to spend 30 minutes walking in and settin up vs a 45 minute drive requiring 1.5hr walk-in and paddle to set-up. You come out faster with the 2 hr drive.
Look east to biloxi marsh but be prepared to deal with people thinking they own the place. Dove you're probably SOL on anything consistent on public land but teal and ducks are doable.

I'm not trying to be a dick. You may find some decent dove hunting (probably not though), but the duck and teal hunting isn't great. You need to go 1.5 hours North, South or West of BR to find good duck hunting outside of luckily hitting Sherburne on a "good" day.
I think it's because ducks come down the Mississippi river, but make a turn about Natchez and start heading SW towards the SW corner of the state.

The green jeans plant a couple of fields every year in Sherburne, not sure how they do.

It was worth a shot, didn't know about whiskey bay or st franciscville possibilities.

When I was in BR I did all my hunting in CENLA and Biloxi Marsh. BR is 1.5 hrs + from good duck hunting. The crowds are thick in the basin and I'm sure they're the same in the other direction. BR is probably the worst city in the state for proximity to good duck hunting. I never had any trouble with other ppl at Biloxi marsh as its a huge area...which is also a problem as the birds have tons of area to avoid you. Might not be an option for you though as you'll need a boat to get all the way out there.
