Believe it or not Plaquemines Parish was 100 times the place it is now before Katrina. I grew up there and the thing that bothers me most is my two kids not getting to do the same..

Yep. You can add Avoyolles to the south and Madison to the north but it's one of those Delta parishes on the east side. And it's not even close

So what is the problem now? Too many blacks is I guess what would be the honest answer on here if you had your choice.
It seems the schools are still good and the real estate values are doing well.
It is lacking in restaurants and bars that are worth a shite, but I could over look that with the quickness.

Northeast Louisiana best part of the state.
Best hunting, fishing and most valuable farm land/real estate.
Don't have to lock my doors and everybody knows their role.

Acadia by a long shot. Hard working Cajun and German farmers who drink beer and eat rice & gravy everyday.

The black population in Plaquemines has actually been declining. I know a few blacks from Venice/Port Sulphur and they're all good people.

I've spent some time in Bayou Sorrel and Pigeon and those folks don't come to mind at all.

What the hell were you doing in those parts? I just said it because its the parish I am from, but if those two places are your experiences in that parish then you have a very bad image of the place.
