Explain to me why the forensic scientist involved said there was no way the fire could have got hot enough to char the remains in the way it did?

Show was good but overrated by people. They could have done it in about 6 episodes

What was done to her?
Brendan said they slit her throat open and dragged her body to the pit and burned it. Yet there's no blood anywhere on the compound.

Ace's proclamations reflect what most people think, he MUST have done it. Maybe, I don't know. When you dive into the evidence it gets real hazy. It is not clear cut, nor is the prosecutions story of how it happened, because if it was we wouldn't be talking about it.
Then on top of that the cops don't like him and his family, within reason, and on top of that have a multi million dollar law suit, which won't just drain the department, but actual money coming out of their pockets. That's pretty powerful.
In just three pages there are some good questions that don't have good answers.

It's not the cop's "fault" on Brendan, though. You take the tools you have - you make the case you can. It's up to the lawyers and judges to regulate the "fairness" of it.

for anyone going to green bay the avery's salvage yard is about 7 miles off the interstate between milwaukee and green bay. we may stop off for a photo op on the way.

Based on the documenory I felt like there was reasonable doubt and he should have not been convicted.
However the entire time I watched it I also questioned whether or not the makers of the film were 100% honest or did they design it to create doubt of the viewers.

Essentially, what you saw was a defense-funded "trial package" tweaked for an entertainment audience. The omitted a significant portion of the evidence pointing to Avery's guilt. They spun the story heavily to the defense side.

The REAL travesty of the whole ordeal is Brendan
I feel like Steve(?) did it, but yeah, this part was fricked up. IIRC, he described what happened in the house, only later to say he got that from a book. Anyone been able to confirm that? Think the book was Kiss the Girls

Steve Avery is guilty and Brendan helped. It was planned in advance.
Soooooooooooooooooooooo, where's all the blood in the garage? They cleaned every drop and then put all the shite back in the garage in the same messy way it was before?
I can't say Avery didn't do it....but he didn't do it the way they say.
I think Brendan didn't do anything.

Holy shite, people still believe Avery is innocent?

Yeah that's the entire problem. Regardless of whether I personally think Avery did it or not (I think he most likely did it) they can't eschew due process just to nail the guy. If you go into great detail as to how the crime occurred, then you don't get to say the details don't matter when they don't support your scenario.

He did it on the back 40, so to speak. The Avery yard is connected through a series of dirt roads and trails with no fences or gates to a couple of decent sized open pit mines for, I assume, gravel. He probably abducted her in the trailer or right outside of it, forced her into the car (or he told he they needed to take a picture of a car and had her drive him) then did it back there and had a fire back there on the spot. It clearly didn't occur int he trailer or the garage, but that doesn't mean he didn't do it. They did find burnt remains back there. That's probably where it all went down and the police just moved the evidence to make the case stronger.

I'm really hoping the LSU fans at College Gameday make good signs that tie in Making a Murderer somehow. The most natural would be to insinuate the referees will be corrupt. I'd also like to see some reference to the outfit of jorts and stained tee shirt which Avery wore to his meeting with the governor.

Most of what they "omitted" was not nearly as bad as spun in retrospect. For instance, the preposterous talking point that he "tricked her" by using his sister's name. That's the car he was selling. Or that he "asked for her specifically". Yes, she was the rep for that region, and they had dealt with each other in past sales. etc. etc.
Regardless, all I have to know to understand that Wisconsin "justice" is outrageous is that, at the appeal for the kid, his defense attorney ADMITTED TO WORKING IN SERVICE OF THE PROSECUTION...and yet the kid still sits in prison.

There was a significant failure of due process in Brendan's case - I'm not going to deny that, and I think that Avery is guilty as hell and Brendan was likely involved in some way, perhaps only after the fact.

Which evidently extended well beyond the heat of the moment.
What about due process and procedure for Avery? Allowing other persons of interest to freely walk the Avery property during the investigation? How was that not - alone - enough to throw out the conviction?
