This was bound to happen.

Good, LSU can't field a kicker who can kick it past the 5 anyway

I'm not really sure what to do with special teams (kickoffs and punts). For some teams they are a serious weapon, but some of the most violent hits you'll see come from punt returns, and kickoffs have plenty of room for players to get up to speed.

Just move the kickoff location up.

Kickoffs can be exciting. Not just the return but the hits. Not a fan of this.

Wonder how much shorter a game will be without kickoffs? that's 1 less commercial for every score.

Probably a good 30 minutes shorter

One of my favorite plays in the game. That feeling you get when your thoroughbred finds an open lane or breaks through the wall, then off to the races. Nothing like it at a packed out home game.

Why do only a select few get to decide how the games played? I'd bet most who have played football, would prefer the game as it is or was before the targeting rule. Taking away kick-offs will change the entire game. Whats next? they take away punts, screens, then tackling? It will be flag football before ya know it.

We should just go back to ye "Old division football" at this point if every year they are going to tinker with the rules from now on...

Princeton vs. Yale 0-0...everyone gets a go.

Middle field scrums all day.

The game shall be won when the ball is kicked past the east or west fence.

Why don't we do away with blocking and tackling too while we're at it.

Memo: It's a CONTACT sport.

Dumb. That would kill a team's chances if they give up a 4th qtr TD with just a min or so left in the game. Plus, a kickoff return is a great momentum shift.

I totally get and agree with this. But at the same time, it's football. Yes it's good to make it safer but at what point do we draw the line on changing the game too much for the sake of safety?

I'd say, for college, no biggie. I'd support it. But this will eventually cross over to the NFL I'm sure, and I not sure I agree with that.
