Cable TV to bonus room without adding another box?

I have 2 cable boxes through eatel. Is it possible to get TV in a 3rd room without another box? This would be a bonus / game room area so it would be ok if it was on the same channel as one of the other rooms.

If you use a stereo that has video capability for one of your other TVs, has 2 HDMI outs, and run a long HDMI cable to your bonus room.

Other than going the HD antenna route, a long hdmi cable coming out of one of the other boxes/stereo is probably your only option.

Since you have a cable sub, you could just get a Roku/Fire TV/AppleTV and use your cable log in credentials to get all your channels over the internet.

You can log into individual channel apps.

What kind of connections do you have in each location and how far away is it? I am using a wireless hdmi transmitter and also an hdmi over cat5e solution. Got both from monoprice and both work very well. Sorry, on mobile and can't link.

Or run a long component cable or use an HDMI splitter

It would be difficult to run a new hdmi but I do already have a rg6 and a cat5e in both locations that run to a central media cabinet where the main eatel feed line comes in.

Look into a Tivo system and get rid of all your cable boxes. The main unit supports a cable card and the satellite units are connected by cat5e. Sounds like you already have the right infrastructure for it.

Tivo system would be great but I don't really want to pay a service fee. It would be cheaper to just add another eatel box.

Tivo fee is $12.50 a month after the first year which is included in the purchase price. You only pay that for the main unit, not the satellites. The only equipment fee you would pay with Tivo is $3-4 a month for the cable card. Do you pay an equipment fee for the DVR as well?

damn thats some expensive crazy shite when you can just get some type of cheap $50 casting device.
if xfinity would just add the 'cast' icon to their app, you could add cable to every tv in wifi range for next to nothing.

I got it. The eatel box has a coax out connection so I just ran that to the other tv, easy! The living room tv uses the hdmi out so I think both should work. I still need to buy another tv.
The only issue is I can't change the channel in the bonus room but It will be ok for what I need it to do.

time warner has a roku app and I just connect roku to the tvs, sign in, and have full access to the tv lineup I have with a cable box. At this point I don't have access to my dvr however. At least that was the last time I checked.
