Andrew pulled a fast one on us. Make no mistake, Opus Vert 2.0 is, in fact, simply a 6.7% abv version of Ghost in the Machine.

So, if you LOVE "GOAT", go buy OV 2.0. Otherwise you're just doing it for the label on the bottle.

It's just the amount of juice that makes Envie, Opus, Goat different. I like medium pulp.

Yes, and it is indistinguishable from Ghost in almost every way. It is also completely different from May's batch of OV.

While priced the same and both very good, Ghost sports a 2% higher ABV (about).

Ghost >Opus.

This is what I heard from some guys I work with who went on Saturday.

ETA: Don't know about the GitM comparison, but they said the new OV is definitely different from the last batch.

OV looked noticeably less filtered from the pics here yesterday. I enjoy DIPAs much more so felt Opus paled in comparison and they definitely have the exact same flavor profile.

breeze must have been blowing the same direction at the different hop farms that day....

all jokes aside, it's a shame these dudes cant get their shite together. they cant make one beer taste the same for 2 years, now they cant get 2 beers to taste different. awesome

Exactly. I'm kind of pissed off. Louisiana doesn't have a legit single IPA offering, Opus was on track for that. Now it's just a different shade of Ghost. I, personally, wanted OV to be different.

Also, if I were a betting man, I'd bet that they tried to brew Ghost, something was wrong about the batch, rather than QC dumping it, they just packaged it as Opus and sell it for the same price as Ghost. Since they're not distributing Opus, they feel like it's no harm no foul.

Now, all this is straight bullshite.. but the beer is fantastic. There is nothing wrong with the beer at all. Just be honest with us Andrew.

To my knowledge, it was always his intention to tinker around with flavor profile, recipe's, brewing techniques, etc, of each of the beers.

I mean, Opus isn't in my personal Top 3, but WTF would you consider a "legit" single IPA offering? You judging by taste or cost efficiency?

Parish's beers sure do turn a lot of folks into Commercial Brewing experts, with impeccable palates and recollection of previous tastings.

Damn shame to have more great beer in LA...
