Not personally, but a relative works in education and they've had a transgender student, or a potential one at any rate. Male who said he identifies as female, wants to go by the girls' dress code-earrings, specifically, which boys aren't allowed to wear. He told the kid they were going to go by what's on his birth certificate, and one of the parents is not down with the transgender stuff, so he thinks they're okay as far as a lawsuit.

Ina Fried is a leading writer on Tech news here in the Bay Area. Ive met a few others....all are professionals.

Yes. I knew a man who became a woman. Joke all you want about it. But I saw a whipped puppy of a man become a confident and ultimately accomplished woman.
I can't say I've fully shaken the oddness of it all. Then again, it's a damned odd world when you think about it, isn't it? I will say it made me a believer that there are truly transgender people.

Back in the late 80s Nieman's on Highland just past the Bengal had female impersonators night. Transgender wasn't a thing back then, but those were probably some TGs. Pretty impressive.

Years ago my wife was bartending in Ft Worth and one of her managers was a gay dude who did drag shows on the side. His shows were hilarious but drag queens aren't exactly trannies. Frankie Sue lived day to day life as just another functioning alcoholic service industry dude.
