Is it common for a gun shop to reject your request to have them transfer your firearm from an internet purchase? I just had this happen this morning from a local business. I already made arrangements with another buisness that was more than happy to work with me, but is this common or is the first guy just a royal dick?

They're just jealous you saved money by not buying it through them... That or you look like a terrorist.

A dude (FFL) up here at one of the newer shops didn't want to accept a shotgun from an individual b/c, as the FFL said, the sending individual would have a copy of his FFL and could potentially use it??? Whatevs bro, I went to Willis Arms, that was the easiest $20 he made all day.

Was your internet purchase from an individual, or another FFL holder?

There was a shop in Seattle that wanted to charge $50 for the transfer fee then if it was something they had in stock or could locate for you they charged an additional 10%.

I said F that and found a guy in the neighborhood over from mine that did transfers from his house for $20.

Pawn shop where I did my old AR (damn boating accident) charged $20 cash and the sticker the dude put on said the purchase (transaction) was 1 cent. Dude made $20 in 10 minutes as he was on the phone dealing with another customer.

The closest LGS to me actually doesn't do FFL transfers. I asked a guy who works there why they didn't do it. His response was they didn't want the hassle.

I was surprised that somebody wouldn't do it, even if you charge $30 i'll still go to you since it's closest place for me to go. I've purchased 3 handguns there before since they get in a decent stock of glock blue label. But, why not take the free advertisement and potential new customers by accepting FFL transfers.

That guy who denied you just lost a lot of business and I'm sure this isn't the only message board that will hear about it. What a dumbass
