Its not that i sont have high hopes.
But now IF we dont make it to at least a playoff spot (god forbid) , all we will hear is how Brandon Harris failed to lead the team.
Id like us to earn hype, not just have it. Thats some major pressure to put on a team that faces Nick Saban annually.
90% of the time , a team that plays loose and disciplined plays better than a tight, pressured one.
I of course pulled that stat out of my arse, but i believe it to be true.

We as fans seem to do it every year. The problem is not all teams are the same so you need to lower those expectations some years

High expectations are good.

This is the Rant. Half the people here expect us to lose every game 5 minutes into the first quarter if we have to punt or if the other team gets a first down.
This is the classic "the sky is falling" forum. Just wait awhile. Expectations will plummet.

I said this after baseball ended. This past baseball season was so much fun because there were no expectations and I already dread the crazies expecting us to play perfect at all times next season.

This 2016 team doesn't have to face Nick Saban annually they just have to play them once. Anything can happen in one game.

Nah frick that
All this hype just makes me more pumped
I've learned to guard my heart though, I can't take another November like 2015

Doesn't really matter what "we" and the media have.....just those players & coaches.

There is no excuse for this staff and this talent to lose more than 1 game. If Miles loses more than 1 game in 2016 then its probably time to move in a new direction.
1. We didnt get gutted by the nfl draft for once.
2. We return 18 starters.
3.we have a returning qb WITH experience.
4. Our offense isnt having to learn new terminology on offense.
5. We have LEONARD FOURNETTE
6. Our main rivals had lots of turnover
7. WE HAVE LEONARD FOURNETTE
barring 2012 typ string of injuries
THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR LOSING MORE THAN 1 GAME IN 2016.

As angry as negative as this fanbase is coming into a season with a top 5 ranking, the leading heismsn candidate, and the most winning coach in our history who has brought us to 2 NC games I can't imagine what this place would be like If we didn't have high expectations
Even more negative, or a ghost town. Both of which would suck

LSU should play loose and disciplined in every game they play starting with their head coach.

Either we have passion for our team, which often leads to emotional and sometimes unreasonable opinions from a fanbase or we can have apathy, where nobody really talks negatively because they don't care....like say Tulane.
Give me the former. To your point, we should expect much and have high hopes for this team. This team is very talented with practical experience coming back from a team that won 9 games, we've upgraded our defensive coaching staff and our schedule does a good job of putting us in a good position to prepare best for the bigger games.
So expectations should be high and I think it would be reasonable as a fan given the time an money many of us invest to be disappointed should we have a season like say....last years. To me that would be a disappointment.

Low expectations would be so much more fun.

You could become a Ms State or a ULL fan so you wouldn't have to worry about lofty expectations
