Big Lake trout

Can anyone give me a report on the trout bite on Big Lake? Family thinks they want to go down this weekend, and I wouldn't mind, if I thought I could get on a decent bite and catch a few. Haven't been in a long time and would probably just ride and look for birds or go to the jetties.
Kind of a last minute idea and I assume most guides have been booked for a while now. Thanks for any advice.

Salinity is almost zero in the bay near the ship channel.
Find outlet pockets where fresh water doesn't flow south.
I would guess West Cove or the marshes near BL.
The jetties may produce on the outside of either side near the beaches.
Get live bait just in case.

BIL went last week
2- 6+lbs
1- 7+lb
they didn't limit out but had a mess of 2-4 lbers and the three beasts

Thanks for all the info, but looks like I'm out for the family trip South. Wife got asked to take call and can't pass it up.

Ole Dubya.....i will say this. He is a good guy and if you can take a little ribbing now and then he is a damn good fisherman. He will work his arse off to put you on the fish. Crazy that he guides now. Back in the day if you said the word "Guide" around him, he might take a swing at you.
