Is Nashville the type of place you can spend a week in? Enough to do/keep you occupied? If so, any tips on where to stay. We like cabins but it's not a must. Thanks.

Tennessee is a damn nice state to vacation in, but I am not sure I would plan a whole week for Nashville alone. Nashville is a city, so you'll want to do city stuff while there (i.e. country music stuff). After a day or so in Nashville, I would head out to the mountains for a cabin, etc.

My wife is addicted to country music, the tv show Nashville and city life.....and she was bored day 2.
As other said, fly/drive into Nashville for a day and then head east to the mountains.

Currently, hotels in Nashville are going for higher than they are in NYC. If you get downtown be ready to spend $300-$500/night. Nashville is a great city and there's plenty to do here, but hotels are expensive. I would suggest staying in a city close to Nashville such as Hendersonville (15 minutes from Nashville), Brentwood (15 minutes from Nashville) or somewhere close. Also, you could break the trip up and head to Gatlinburg for a few days. It's about 3.5 hours from nashville

Nashville is an awesome city, and there is plenty to do there. But a week might be pushing it. Consider heading to the mountains for a couple days. Also, there are a handful of whiskey distilleries right outside of Nashville as well that are fun to visit if your into that. The Jack Daniels distillery is about 30 minutes outside the city, and its a neat tour. There is lots of live music, and lots of neat bars. Depending on the time of your your planning on going, Nashville does also have a NFL and NHL team.

Nashville is cool, but for a week long vacation you'd probably enjoy the mountains more. How many people? Kids? What do you like to do?

I would do a few days in Nashville, 2 or 3 in the Smokie's and then 1 night (2 days) in Chattanooga for Ruby Falls, Rock City and Lookout Mountain and then head back to Nashville.

I went for the first time last weekend. Unless you love country music Nashville sucks bigtime.
