If the goal is to make the playoffs right away, A+
If the goal is to eventually win a title, C-

I bet anyone 30 to 1 odds that we do not sign batum.

The only thing about batum is that this was the best year of his career and I'm always weary of guys That have there best seasons during contract years

Can start negotiating july 1 but can't officially sign until july 8

Pets ain't winning a title anytime soon. So let's try to make the playoffs first.
Batum isn't coming here anyway, so....

Terrible.
We sure as shite better not spend all our cap on a mediocre to average small forward. You shouldn't be allowed to give the max to someone that has never made an all-star team.

Signed,
Gordon Hayward
Serge Ibaka
Mike Conley
Deandre Jordan
Goran Dragic
Rudy Gay
Derrick Favors
who cares about all star teams

The correct statement is that you shouldn't be able to pay all timers ONLY the max. Lebron should be making 80 mil per year. Then, it doesn't look so bad that Batum makes 25

Do Asik, Gordon and Evans' contracts have guaranteed money -- if we can't trade them, should we just outright cut them? Asik is average at best and not a good fit for this system. When healthy, Gordon is very good, but he's often hurt, and isn't getting any younger. Evans is also very good, but frankly I'm tired of seeing the Pelicans' offense revolve around him standing at the top of the key pounding the ball up and down, and then forcing a shot as the shot clock is about to go off.
If we have to pay them regardless of whether they're on the roster then we obviously have to keep them; if we can free up cap space by ditching them, that's what I'd do, and try to sign FA's that fit Gentry's system. And, I'd sure as hell try very hard to keep Anderson; he's a big guy with a good outside shot and I think he plays well w/ AD and in Gentry's system. My two cents. AD, Holliday and Hield is a good "Big Three." Would love to get a good center who fits in the system, and a beefy power forward to help out AD on the inside.

Gordon is gone due to him being udfa
Asiks last year isn't guaranteed but he could be stretched(I.e his cap hit is spread over some years)
Reke could probably be moved during FA

So far, in the last hour or so, we have had questions about if Batum plays defense, if round two of the draft is tomorrow, and if our players have guaranteed money on their contract
Welcome, casual fans who check in twice a year!
Hard core fans, they are the norm, you are not. And these are the kinds of comments/questions I got 100 times a week. Just pointing it out

And I probably know more about basketball than you do, other than AD's jock size, which I'm sure you've memorized.
It's hard to be a "hard core" fan of a team that usually trades draft picks for cash. (Does Cash play good dee?) I'm pleasantly surprised they picked the obvious choice, Hield. I think they have some good role players on the roster. I don't know what Demps' vision for the team is, or if he has a vision, but am encouraged by them adding Ferry to the front office.
Hopefully, several days of watching film will confirm for him what I've observed -- Evans is not a good fit and our offense which seems to go through him (again, dribbling the ball at the top of the key, driving to the hoop with a few seconds, and forcing some shot as the shot clock expires) is horrible. I see no reason to purposely let a good player like Anderson just walk away, when he's an asset to the team.

I said max money.
And all I was pointing out is max money should be for great players, not average players. I wasn't being literal about making an all star team.

Are you going to answer my question or be a dumb and unfunny little a-hole?
